A registered letter differs from a simple one in that it is assigned an identification number by which you can track its movement to the addressee. This number is recorded at each post office where the envelope arrives. In case of loss of the letter, you can always find out at what stage the loss occurred.
Instructions
Step 1
To send a certified letter, you must contact any branch of the Russian Post. There, in a special window, you can register this shipment.
Step 2
In order for a certified letter to be accepted, show your passport to the post office employee. His data is entered into the database, and if the envelope does not reach the addressee, it will certainly be returned to the sender. In addition to the general civil passport, the following are accepted as identity documents: - military ID;
- international passport;
- certificate of a member of the Federation Council or a Deputy of the State Duma;
- residence;
- national passport or identity card with a visa stamp of the Russian Federation.
Step 3
Choose the type of envelope depending on how important your documents are. They come in regular, thin paper, cardboard and heavy duty envelopes. There are a variety of envelope sizes to suit any shipment.
Step 4
The exact address of the recipient with an index, his last name, first name, patronymic is indicated on the envelope. The name of the company is required if the letter is sent to the office. Items "return address" and "name of the sender" must be filled in. All information is written in clear, understandable handwriting. Best of all - in block letters.
Step 5
In the upper right corner of the letter, you need to stick the required number of stamps. Check their number with the post office. The cost of sending depends on the distance and urgency of the shipment.
Step 6
The post office employee will pack the documents prepared for shipment in an envelope. Then the letter is assigned an identification number, and it is entered into the registered mail database.
Step 7
If it is necessary that a certified letter be delivered to the recipient in person, this must be indicated on the envelope. Otherwise, the addressee will simply receive a notification that correspondence awaits him in the mail.
Step 8
Any other person for whom a power of attorney was issued in accordance with the established procedure can also receive a certified letter.
