Biography

Pavel was born at the end of May 1976 in the city of Kaluga. Even in his preschool years, he showed an interest in the exact sciences and demonstrated an amazing ability for mathematics. While receiving school education, Pavel studied his favorite subject in depth, and geometry became for him a real creativity, into which he went headlong. The family seriously supported his hobbies.

In high school, in 1992, he became a prize-winner of the international Olympiad in mathematics, and in 1992 he applied to Moscow State University, to the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, which he graduated with honors in 1997.

Career

In 2000, Kozhevnikov defended his doctoral dissertation and began teaching higher mathematics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, combining the department with the position of a simple mathematics teacher at the fifth school of Dolgoprudny. In 2002, he was invited to work in a special department of the institute called the Laboratory for Working with Gifted Children. The purpose of this organization was to identify and help in the development of children who seek to devote their lives to scientific knowledge.

Pavel Alexandrovich has published many books and articles, both scientific and related to education. He took an active part in the development of methods that allow gifted children to deepen their knowledge, and at the same time the schemes for holding school Olympiads, for which he was awarded a prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in 2010, and in 2013 - an honorary presidential diploma.

In 2018, Pavel was invited to the editorial board of the famous physics and mathematics journal "Kvant", becoming deputy editor-in-chief for mathematics. In 2015, Moscow schoolchildren led by Kozhevnikov won gold at the 7th International Mathematical Olympiad, held in Romania.

Present time

Today Pavel Aleksandrovich is one of the most active popularizers of mathematics, for which he received the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, deputy editor of the famous magazine "Quant", member of the commission and jury of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren and associate professor of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. For ten years, Kozhevnikov has been one of the teachers of the effective Foxford online learning center, which prepares schoolchildren for exams and Olympiads personally and in groups. With regard to his personal life, Pavel does not extend, but his students always speak of their teacher as a competent lecturer, enthusiastic about his work, an attentive teacher and a very kind person who sincerely rejoices in the successes of their wards. The guys respectfully call him "PalSanych" and adore their mentor for his excellent ability to play football. Kozhevnikov not only knows how to interest in his subject and tell the most difficult things in an accessible language, but also finds an individual approach to each student.
