Have you decided to track down your former neighbors? It’s quite real. If you know the exact name, date and place of birth of at least one of the members of the wanted family and the city where these people now live, you can quickly find their coordinates through the Federal Migration Service. If you do not have such data, the search process will become more complicated and, quite possibly, delayed. But don't be discouraged. According to one old song, he who seeks will always find.
Instructions
Step 1
Send a request to the address and reference department of the Federal Migration Service of Russia at the alleged place of residence of your former neighbors. The easiest and fastest way to do this is through your personal account on the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services of the Russian Federation https://www.gosuslugi.ru (the address of the new version of the portal called "Electronic Government": https://epgu.gosuslugi.ru). If you don't have your account on the public services portal yet, go through the registration procedure.
Step 2
Log into your personal account on the public services portal. Click on the "Electronic Services" button. In the list of departments that appears, select the FMS, and in the list of available services of the department - "Getting address information."
Step 3
Pay attention to one important nuance: on the page that you will be taken to as a result of the actions described above, the system will ask you to select "Your location". But in fact, for the correct formation of the request, you will need to indicate the region in which, according to your information, the people you are looking for live. This discrepancy between form and content is a sad flaw of the portal programmers.
Step 4
Fill out the electronic request form. Any reason for the search can be specified. For example, "Receiving an inheritance" - no one will check it. Another thing is important:
- it is possible to send an electronic form only if you fill in all the fields, including the full name and the exact date and place of birth of a person, and people do not always provide such information to their neighbors. If you do not know any one or two points (patronymic and / or place of birth, for example), you can send your request to the Federal Migration Service of the desired region by regular mail or by e-mail. Look for contact information on the FMS of Russia website https://www.fms.gov.ru/about/apparatus (you can use an interactive map);
- information about the address of a person will be provided to you only if he gives his consent to the FMS authorities. If a person does not want to communicate with you (your data, which you indicate in the application, he will be informed), the FMS employees will only notify you that "So-and-so Takoytovich" really lives in this city - and that's it;
- the FMS authorities only know the official information about the place of registration (registration), and people do not always really live at their official addresses;
- if the person to whom you sent the request has officially moved to another region, the FMS authorities will inform you where. You will need to redirect your request to this region yourself.
Step 5
Look for your former neighbors through social networks on the Internet if official inquiries are not possible or have failed. Of course, not all of humanity is registered on social networks, and even those who do not always use their real names in normal transcription. But you can search not only by name. If you know the city of residence of your former neighbors or a specific area of interest for one of your family members, you can leave an advertisement for a wanted person, for example, in the official group of the desired city "VKontakte" or in a group dedicated to his idol. Even if the person does not personally visit this community, perhaps someone from the group will recognize him and help you contact him.
Step 6
Use other search tools. There are many resources on the Internet that can help you find lost loved ones. The most famous project for tracing people is “Wait for me”.
