Blinov Nikolai Nikolaevich was born in February 1908, the city of Smolensk became his homeland.

This period was not easy for the country, as well as for its citizens. The growing up of a child fell on a time of difficult and troubled times. Nikolai Nikolaevich's father was a Bolshevik. Nikolai Demyanovich joined this party at the beginning of the 20th century. He worked in a printing house, corrected texts and typed them. The mother of the future writer worked for the countess. At the beginning of the First World War, Father Nikolai Nikolaevich was called to the front. And when the October Revolution began, Nikolai Demyanovich began to fight on the side of the Bolsheviks in order to build a "bright future."

But this fact became a turning point in the Blinov family. Nikolai's mother, Nadezhda Fedorovna, adhered to different views than her husband. While her husband was on the military fronts, she met another man, married him. In 1920, Nadezhda Fyodorovna, together with her new chosen one, with two little brothers of the future writer, moved to Estonia. This new family then emigrated to Australia. Nikolai stayed in Smolensk with his grandmother.

Such a turn of fate in the life of the future writer left a mark on his soul for the rest of his life. When Nikolai Nikolaevich retired, he came to Australia to see his younger brothers, but he could not see his mother, since by that time the woman had already died.
