Childhood
Danila Alekseevich Poperechny was born in the spring of 1994 in the Russian city of Voronezh. When he was still in infancy, his father left the family, so Danila was raised by his mother. As a teenager, the boy, along with his relatives, left Russia and moved to the capital of Ukraine - Kiev.
From early childhood, Poperechny showed a penchant for creative pursuits. His mother, noticing this, decided to send her son to an art school, which, perhaps, influenced all his future activities. At the age of 14, he began to master animation - the art of creating moving objects on the screen. Around the same time, he registered on the video hosting site YouTube under the pseudonym Spoontamer, where he began to upload his first works.
In parallel with his education, Danila always tried to find ways to earn extra money. So, in high school, he worked in the Ukrainian game development company "GSC Game World", where he was engaged in testing games for software errors. After graduating from high school, Poperechny entered Poland to study computer engineering. After a couple of years, he dropped out of school, not seeing any prospects in this area of activity.
Career on YouTube
In 2011, an already experienced animator was offered a job in the YouTube project “Thank you, Eva!”. His responsibilities included creating short animated videos with the participation of government officials, in particular, Putin and Medvedev. It didn't matter if they were presented in a good or bad light. After some time, it turned out that the project was propaganda and sponsored by the Kremlin. Cross and other video bloggers (for example, Ruslan Usachev) found themselves at the center of a powerful political scandal. After making a few more videos, the blogger left the project. Later he began to cooperate with the video blogging school "Come Lyme", but quickly left there.
In 2013, Danila Poperechny began his first performances as a comedian, although, as he admits, this area of activity has attracted him for several years. The main source of inspiration for Danila was the performances of the American stand-up comedian Louis C. Kay. Just a year after his first appearances on the stage, he went on a tour of the cities of Russia, not forgetting to record funny videos and podcasts on YouTube. At the beginning of 2015, Poperechny posted on his channel the first recording of a stand-up performance entitled "Without a mate". At the moment, the video has received more than 4 million views.
Since this year, the popularity of Danila Poperechny has grown steadily. He was increasingly called to participate in the videos of famous bloggers - Stas Davydov (“This is Good”), Ruslan Usachev (“It's Time to Blame”), Eldar Dzharakhov, Ilya Prusikin and Yura Muzychenko (“I seem to have groped!”, “Give a bream "," Zashkvarnye stories "). In the winter of 2018, he became a participant in the vDud show.
Problems with the authorities
In the summer of 2016, Danila Poperechny posted on his channel the clip "POP KULTURA", which became the center of scandals and showdowns with representatives of the government and the church. In the music video, the blogger ridicules the image of individual representatives of the institute of religion, who have forgotten about their duties and are mired in depravity. Deputy Vitaly Milonov filed a lawsuit against Poperechny under Article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (insulting the religious feelings of believers). The main argument was the use of a sacred place in the video - the premises of the church, but since only the scenery was involved in the video, this argument was not valid. The clip was criticized by representatives of the church. Thus, threats to Poperechny came from the Orthodox activist Dimitri Enteo.
This case received a massive response and added popularity to the blogger, but he did not incur criminal punishment. Danila, however, confessed that he had spent impressive sums on good lawyers. The rest from the scandals was short-lived, and in the spring of 2018 Poperechny found himself in the center of a new conflict with government officials, but already in Ukraine. As part of the "Impartial" tour, the comedian was supposed to visit 3 cities in this country, but the security service of Ukraine banned Poperechny from entering the country for the next 3 years. He did not manage to restore the admission. According to Danila, he filed a lawsuit against Ukraine, and the case is still open.
Personal life
Danila Poperechny tries not to talk about his family and friends. This is understandable, because celebrities with a multimillion audience outside the set have a hard time. During scandals and trials, the police even came to the house of his grandmother and mother. Of course, after that, he especially carefully conceals the names and locations of relatives. During the showdown with Ukraine, the blogger mentioned that many of his relatives live in this country, and not in Russia.
It is known that Danila Poperechny is in a long relationship with a girl named Regina, with whom he lives together in St. Petersburg. In 2018, they got a puppy named Rocket, who has his own blog on Instagram.
