The audience knows Svetlana Stupak as the leading actress in the musical fairy tale "Pippi Longstocking". Peppy performed by the young actress fell in love with the viewer so much that after the release of the film, a wave of popularity simply hit the artist.
Biography
Svetlana Stupak was born in Moscow on May 30, 1971. The girl's main dream was to become a circus artist and perform in the big arena.
Svetlana has been doing acrobatics for eight years. She tried to fulfill her dream, but, unfortunately, for health reasons, she did not qualify for the circus school.
However, the young acrobat was admitted to the circus studio at the local House of Culture. The girl studied with great enthusiasm, she mastered complex tricks and performed very successfully with her program. It was at one of these performances that Natalya Koreneva, who worked as an assistant director, noticed Svetlana.
Peppy
One of the highlights in the life of Svetlana Stupak was her participation in the filming of the musical film "Pippi Longstocking".
The picture was filmed in Soviet times based on the famous book by the Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren.
The script was different from the original. For example, in the domestic version, Pippi was blonde and looked a little older than her book prototype.
The director needed a clever, hardy and physically strong girl who could do different tricks. Applicants were sought in various sports clubs, circus and dance studios. About a thousand "little actors" auditioned for the role of Peppy, some of whom were boys.
At first, they did not want to take Sveta for the role of the main character, but after she was asked to show the daughter of the leader of an African tribe, the choice became obvious, and the young applicant was approved for the role. Svetlana's emancipation, enthusiasm and mischief simply won over the commission.
Stupak's added benefit was that she was an acrobatic and flexible child.
Later, the actress admitted that for her, these filming was a child's play, and she did not take them seriously.
Sveta just perfectly got used to the role, as she was very similar to her heroine. She, too, was a hyperactive child, played a lot, ran, made noise, was mischievous and even fought with boys. It was not easy for the film crew to work with such a “robber”.
But all the efforts paid off, the film became super popular, both children and adults fell in love with it.
Together with Svetlana Stupak, such star actors as Lev Durov, Fyodor Stukov and Mikhail Boyarsky starred in the film.
Life after cinema
After filming the children's film "Pippi Longstocking" Svetlana in the period from 1984 to 1985 starred in two more films and disappeared from the world of cinema forever.
A difficult time of perestroika began in the country. The film industry fell into decay, and the few offers that Svetlana received did not suit her. She did not want to appear in low-quality films about thieves and prostitutes and decided to devote herself to other professions.
Svetlana married early, gave birth to a daughter and leads a modest and non-public lifestyle. The former screen star has dabbled in various industries. She worked in trade, restaurant business, and was also a manager in a private firm. She devotes her free time to family, hobbies and travel.
Despite the fact that Svetlana did not continue her acting career, her name is inscribed in the history of cinema thanks to the mischievous and funny girl Pippi!
