Svetlana Mikhailovna Vetrova is a Russian singer, poetess, composer, organizer of competitions for young musicians in St. Petersburg.
Childhood
Svetlana Mikhailovna was born on September 20, 1959 in Leningrad. The real name of Svetlana is Shimbereva. Her family made sure that the girl received a diversified development, and sent Svetlana to a music school to learn to play the piano. As a teenager, Svetlana first listened to a disc with recordings of songs by the famous bard Bulat Okudzhava. The girl really liked this music, she also decided to learn how to play the guitar and create poems. Her first teacher was an experienced teacher named Ivan Ivanovich Klimovich. Svetlana enthusiastically attended classes and diligently sat with the guitar at home, honing her skills in using the instrument every day. But on the way the girl faced difficulties. In 1980, she broke her spine. Due to her severe injury, the doctors forbade Svetlana to sit. The aspiring guitarist showed great perseverance, practicing daily, but no longer sitting, but lying down.
The beginning of adulthood
In 1982, Svetlana received her first higher education, graduating from the Leningrad Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics. This seemed to her not enough, and the girl entered the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute named after Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov-Lenin. Svetlana received her second diploma in 1984. After graduation, the girl worked for seven years as a design technologist.
Creative activity
While studying at the institute, Svetlana and her friends attended a club called "Meridian". She first got there in 1981. In this club, concerts were often held, at which performers of author's songs performed. Svetlana first came just to listen to music, and then she herself began to perform there. In 1984, the singer became a laureate of the Spring Drops music competition, which was held in this club.
The young singer soon began performing in other cities. In 1985 she sang her songs at a festival in Kazan. A year later, Svetlana performed on the same stage with the laureates of the Grushinsky festival. In 1987 she gave concerts in Minsk, Kharkov, Monchegorsk, Moscow and Dnepropetrovsk. Svetlana also visited Germany, France, Israel and the USA with concerts.
In 1991 Svetlana Mikhailovna released her debut album entitled "Stozhary". The album was produced by the oldest recording company in the USSR "Melodia". This was the last vinyl record the company released.
In 1992, Svetlana began working at the Foundation for Helping Disadvantaged Children, which was located in St. Petersburg. In the fund, Svetlana headed the direction of the author's song. Svetlana liked teaching music to children, and she got a job in a kindergarten. The singer worked there for eight years. In parallel with her main work, she taught guitar accompaniment courses.
In 1996, the singer's second album was released, to which she named "Songs of Sun Bunnies". The album featured not only the guitar, but also the button accordion and piano, which were played by Vladimir Sapogov. Vladimir Nikolaev recorded the second guitar. The album contains 35 tracks.
Hobbies
Svetlana Vetrova has always been a versatile person. She had a technical education, but she was engaged in art all her life. In addition to music, her area of interest includes: psychology, foreign languages, pedagogy, fine arts and medicine.
Svetlana graduated from the courses of graphic designers and the school of stenographers, was engaged in cutting and sewing. At the Department of Psychology, St. Petersburg State University, Svetlana studied the meaning of children's drawings. While vacationing in Thailand, the singer has professionally learned how to do Thai massage. Svetlana received medical knowledge and skills at home nursing courses. The artist studied English for two years and speaks French.
Cooperation
In 2011, Svetlana began working with Natalia Gudkova-Sarpova. They have recorded three discs with author's songs, which are called "Hidden Thoughts", "Gift" and "Our Lives of a Half". In the same year, the duet was awarded a diploma at the Grushinsky festival. Svetlana and Natalia performed in Russia, France and Germany.
Svetlana recorded songs with the children she worked with. The result of the children's contribution to the singer's work was the release of the album "About Koha and Mykha" in 2010. The disc includes children's songs, illustrations and sheet music. The songs were composed to the poems of Lesya Ukrainka, Andrey Usachev, Mikhail Grigoriev, Marina Boroditskaya and to the works of other famous poets. The album was recorded specifically for music directors of preschool educational institutions and for teachers from secondary schools. The book can also come in handy for parents who are concerned about the musical development of their child.
Jury work
In 1996, Svetlana was appointed a member of the organizing committee of the St. Petersburg Accord International Festival of Artists' Songs. The organizer of the major festival was businessman and politician Yuri Anatolyevich Kravtsov, who had long been fond of music and poetry.
Svetlana Mikhailovna Vetrova initiated the Song of the Year competition in 2018. The competition contributed to the identification and promotion of talented musicians in St. Petersburg.
