Biography
The future famous actor Leonid Kanevsky was born in Kiev in 1939 and is of Jewish origin. He was brought up in a simple Soviet family with his older brother Alexander. Already in childhood, Leonid showed a passion for cinema: he tried not to miss a single high-profile premiere in Kiev cinemas and quickly realized that he himself wanted to become an actor. After school, he without hesitation went to Moscow to enter a theater university.
At first, the young man suffered a setback: neither the Shchepkinsky School nor the Moscow Art Theater wanted to accept him.
