If you need to register a trademark yourself, remember that this is only possible when your organization is domestic. Foreign companies can register a trademark only through patent attorneys. If in your case there is no such obstacle, then you can independently register a trademark in a few steps.

It is necessary

To do this, you will need to study the legislation, develop and create an image of a trademark, write an application, collect a package of documents, pay a state fee

Instructions

Step 1

Read the Trademark Law carefully.

Step 2

Create a mockup of your trademark.

Step 3

Clearly define the list of goods (or services) that will be covered by the future trademark. To do this, use the International Classification of Goods and Services.

Step 4

Check your mark for patentability. This can be done using open registries of registered trademarks: both national and international. Conduct this search as thoroughly as possible.

Step 5

Pay the state fee and send an application for registration of a trademark to Rospatent in the prescribed form.

Step 6

Attach to the application a receipt for payment of the state duty, a copy of the company's statutory documents (or a certificate of registration of an entrepreneur) and a letter from the Federal State Statistics Service, which indicates the statistics codes assigned to your company.

Step 7

After that, Rospatent will conduct a formal examination. If everything is in order and your documents meet the established requirements, you will be admitted to the next stage.

Step 8

Examination of the claimed designation - a trademark as such.

Rospatent will check the uniqueness of your trademark and other aspects of it. If there are no violations, your trademark will be registered.
