Apparently, the young leader of the state of North Korea decided to show everyone his progressive thinking and democratic attitude by giving the women of his country more freedom in choosing clothes.
North Korean women, according to Western media reports, are now allowed to dress more modernly and to deviate from strict traditions. Earlier in Korea, only national dress and austere appearance were welcomed.
This information about new changes in the image of "free women of the Republic of North Korea" came from the Seoul bureau of America's radio station ABC. The publication notes that the ruler Kim Jong-un allowed women in his country to wear fashionable platform shoes, trousers and earrings. Previously, a strict ban was imposed on all of this. In addition, mobile phones are becoming more widespread and popular among the people. There is a proliferation of restaurants in cities offering Western-style food such as hamburgers, French fries and pizza.
Dong Yong Seung, Democratic People's Republic of Korea Specialist at the Samsung Research Institute of Economics, considers it an obvious fact that young Kim is thus trying to create an image of a warm and kind leader who cares for the people. His own grandfather, Kim Il Sung, adhered to about the same tactics at one time.
It should also be noted that the Research Institute of Economics "Samsung" gave some more interesting data regarding popular things among the residents of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in 2011. Women's platform heels came in second. This was taken as further evidence of the fact that women in North Korea had the opportunity to change their image and follow the trends of global fashion more.
It is also noteworthy that mobile phones took the third place in popularity. The first place was taken by a rather prosaic, but very necessary commodity for the economy of North Korean families - coal, which is used here for heating homes.
