Sergey Nikolaevich Juran: facts from the biography

The future footballer was born in Lugansk on June 11, 1969. His family could not be called wealthy. Sergei studied poorly, often skipped lessons at school. He liked to play the ball in the yard better. Mom hated her son's infatuation and insisted that he stop this "football madness".

The elder brother came to the rescue of Sergei. Secretly from his parents, he submitted Sergei's documents to a sports boarding school, and then presented the family with a fait accompli. At the sports school, Juran's talents were revealed very quickly. Already in 1985, a sixteen-year-old boy received an invitation to play in the Zarya club. As a result, Sergey became the youngest player in the history of the club.

Start of a football career

In 1987, the promising player was invited to Dynamo (Kiev). Here he defended the honor of the club for four years. The footballer managed to show very good results - he managed to score goals in six games in a row. Coach Valery Lobanovsky took a direct part in the upbringing of the athlete. The years spent by Juran at Dynamo became the basis for his future sporting achievements.

The road to the top of my career was difficult. For violating the sports regime, the coach even sent Juran to the army "for re-education". For two months the young footballer learned to wrap footcloths, wore clothes, and in short moments of rest he taught his colleagues how to play football.

Another serious test for Juran was an injury: in the spring of 1988, Seregy injured his ankle. Nobody believed that Juran would be able to return to big football. However, a year later, Sergei was again in the ranks.

Sports achievements of Sergei Yuran

In 1990, Juran was already the champion of the USSR with Dynamo Kiev. In the same period, he began his career in the national team of the country.

In 1991, Juran left Dynamo and went to Lisbon. Here he became one of Benfica's leading players. For his style of play, Sergei earned the nickname "Russian tank". Having become the champion of Portugal, Juran moved to Porto and won the league title again.

In 1995, Juran became a Spartak player and made an undoubted contribution to the victories of this team. And then he did an act that seemed inexplicable to many: Juran moved to the not-so-prestigious Millwall club and moved to the capital of Britain. The answer turned out to be simple: the footballer went to London to be closer to his beloved - her name was Lyudmila.

Soon, Juran's results declined. He was often seen in bars. The motivation to play has disappeared.

An injury put an end to the player's career: in one of the matches, Juran broke his frontal bone. Doctors forbade him to play. In 2001, Sergei hung up his boots.

Currently, Sergei Yuran is successfully coaching, from time to time moving from club to club. Behind him is the Graduate School of Coaches.

Personal life of Sergei Yuran

Juran was married three times. The first two marriages were unsuccessful and broke up almost immediately. His current wife's name is Lyudmila. She is engaged in sports journalism. They met while Sergey was playing in Lisbon.

Juran has three citizenships - Russian, Portuguese and Ukrainian.
