But life here turned out to be even more unbearable. And then the pupil Eremeev decides to return to the city on the Neva on his own.

A short time after arriving at home, the teenager enters a special school for street children. Here, having already learned the laws of the criminal environment, aggressive and intelligent, Alexei gets the nickname "Lenka Panteleev". There was such a bandit in the city about whom fables were made up. Within the walls of the special school, the young man again revived his love for writing, for studying literature. It was on this basis that he became friends with Grigory Belykh. Their creative union culminated in the release of several books. The most famous work is "The Republic of SHKID". A film of the same name was filmed based on this story.

During the war, the writer Leonid Panteleev lived for almost a year in besieged Leningrad. Thanks to the help of Alexander Fadeev, he is taken to the "mainland". After the victory he returns home. Works a lot. His works are eagerly published and published in magazines. Personal life is also improving. The writer marries Eliko Kashia. A husband and wife from the same workshop are engaged in literature. Leonid Panteleev died in 1987.
