Worldly fame passes quickly. Many actors and singers who were famous twenty years ago are now completely forgotten. The talented performer and composer Kai Metov escaped this fate thanks to his hard work and dedication.
Starting conditions
Once upon a time on television of the Soviet Union there was a popular program called "Hello, we are looking for talents." For some, this program turned out to be a launching pad. And someone did not need it. Kairat Metov did not make his way to the heights of recognition and fame. He consistently and gradually moved along the chosen route, effortlessly demonstrating his versatile abilities and talents. At some point in his career, he adopted the stage name Kai, simply shortening his full name. It would be wrong to say that everything was smooth in his creative life. Anything happened.
The future idol of the Russian stage was born on September 19, 1964 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the famous city of Karaganda. My father worked as an engineer at one of the coal mining enterprises. Mother worked as a kindergarten teacher. From an early age, the boy had a good memory and absolute ear for music. After a short period of time, the family moved to the capital of Soviet Kazakhstan, the city of Alma-Ata. Here the child was sent to a music school, where Kai mastered the technique of playing the violin.
Mom, I want to be a pioneer
From the first days Metov stood out among other students. He regularly participated in various shows and competitions, always taking prizes. Three years later he was sent to study in Moscow, where he was admitted to the Central Music School at the Moscow State Conservatory. In 1982, after receiving a diploma in specialized music education, Kai was drafted into the ranks of the armed forces. In the service, the musician immediately became a member of the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Molodist", and then its leader.
Metov returned to civilian life as an experienced performer and head of the musical group. For several years he worked at the Tambov Philharmonic. In parallel with vocal and musical creativity, Kai mastered the skills of an arranger and sound engineer. In 1991, the songs "Mom, I want to be a pioneer" and "Broken glass", written and performed by Metov, sounded on the all-Union television. From that moment on, the performer and composer regularly recorded solo albums, which occupied the top positions of various ratings. In 1995 he was recognized as the most "large-circulation" performer in Russia.
Creativity and personal life
Over the years, Metov not only sang his songs, but also created vocal and musical compositions for Russian stars. The songs written by Kai were performed by Philip Kirkorov and Masha Rasputin.
The personal life of the maestro was ambiguous. In 1985, Kai married a girl named Natasha. The husband and wife lived under the same roof for five years. During this time, they had a daughter, Christina. After the divorce, the singer no longer entered into an official marriage. In 2015, it became known that Metov had an illegitimate son and daughter. Kai supports and cares for his children in every possible way.
