The brave detective Sherlock Holmes, whose adventures were described by Arthur Conan Doyle, was on the verge of death more than once. And every time he managed to cope with the circumstances. But the confrontation with the leader of the gang of international criminals, Professor Moriarty, almost cost Sherlock his life for real. Only ingenuity and discretion helped the detective this time.
Instructions
Step 1
After the exposure of Professor Moriarty's gang in London, most of the members of the criminal community were captured by the police. But the ringleaders, including Moriarty and Colonel Moran, managed to evade retaliation, although Holmes handed over to the police all the evidence of their criminal activities.
Step 2
Fearing retaliation from the criminals, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, his friend and assistant, decide to go to Switzerland for a while. The travelers' plans included a visit to the famous Reichenbach Falls, located near the village of Meiringen. One day Holmes and Watson take a walk to the waterfall.
Step 3
But the heroes failed to admire the beauty of nature and appreciate the local sights. Suddenly, a messenger boy caught up with them, who handed a note to Dr. Watson. In it, the innkeeper asked the doctor to return to examine the Englishwoman who had arrived on vacation. Upon learning that an English doctor was staying at the hotel, she flatly refused the services of a local doctor.
Step 4
Driven by a sense of duty, Watson returns to the hotel. But the shrewd Sherlock Holmes immediately felt the threat, rightly believing that the Englishwoman and her illness were fictional so that it would be easier for the criminals hunting the detective to deal with him. Left alone, Sherlock carefully prepared for the upcoming battle.
Step 5
Indeed, after a while, Professor Moriarty suddenly appeared near the waterfall. Being a lover of vivid scenes, the professor turned down the opportunity to simply shoot his abuser. He considered that mastering the techniques of eastern wrestling would be enough to cope with the detective. Before the start of the fight, Moriarty generously allowed Sherlock to write a farewell letter to Watson.
Step 6
The fight took place, but it ended badly for Moriarty, who was thrown into the stormy streams of the waterfall. Sherlock Holmes, holding onto the edges of the cliff with both hands, could also fall into the abyss at any moment. But he hadn't wasted his time waiting for the professor. When examining the cliff, the detective found a small area below, on which he was able to hold out after the fall of his opponent. But Sherlock was in no hurry to get upstairs, suggesting that the professor could have accomplices.
Step 7
Holmes was right. Colonel Moran, hiding behind the stones, having witnessed the death of Professor Moriarty, decided to send the detective to the bottom of the waterfall. An excellent marksman, Moran fired several shots, aiming at the hands of Holmes, who pretended to try to get up. As a result, the detective was wounded in the arm and skillfully staged his fall into the abyss.
Step 8
The detective sat for some time on the ledge, waiting for Colonel Moran to leave the scene of the battle. With the onset of darkness, Sherlock got out of his hideout, but chose not to reveal himself to Dr. Watson, having devoted only his brother Mycroft to the secret. Only after a while, Sherlock Holmes appeared in his London apartment, where he appeared before Watson, who believed his friend was dead. The adventures of Sherlock Holmes continued.
