From the biography of Alexei Gorbunov
Actor Alexei Sergeevich Gorbunov was born in the capital of Ukraine on October 29, 1961. As a child, he loved to play war. For days, Alexei disappeared in the yard. Films about the Great Patriotic War made a great impression on the future actor.
Alexey spent a lot of time at the stadium, watching the trainings of famous football players. Growing up, the young man became interested in blackmail: he resold jeans, exchanged gum for badges. Over time, his desire to go abroad grew stronger. He hated communists and often argued hoarsely with his father when discussing political issues.
The beginning of the creative path
Already at school age, Gorbunov dreamed of devoting his life to creativity. In 1978 he graduated from high school and decided to enter the Kiev Theater Institute. However, the applicant was refused admission. One of the reasons was the young man's lack of a Komsomol ticket: he was not a member of the Komsomol.
To join the world of creativity, Gorbunov got a job at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater. Here, the famous Ada Rogovtseva drew attention to the young auxiliary worker. She introduced the guy to her husband Konstantin Stepankov, a teacher at the theater institute. An experienced teacher immediately noted that the young man has acting talent and outstanding abilities. Stepankov promoted Alexei's admission to the Kiev State Institute of Theater Arts, and then assigned the young man to his course.
In 1984, Gorbunov became the owner of a diploma of higher theater education. And on the same day he started filming the film "Unmarked Cargo". Debut work brought success to the actor. They began to invite him to other projects. True, the young actor at first got the supporting roles.
In 1985, Alexey went to serve in the army. Two years later, he retired and resumed filming. He played several major roles in films that were not popular with the viewer. At one time, the actor was left almost without a livelihood. To improve matters, Gorbunov temporarily left the acting profession and worked as a taxi driver. In the 90s, only one role brought popularity to the actor: he played Shiko with great skill in the series "The Countess de Monsoro".

The difficulties of the 90s did not break Gorbunov's will. As a result, he became one of the leading actors in Russia and Ukraine. His most successful projects: "Piranha Hunt", "Bourgeois Birthday", "State Councilor", "Sword Bearer", "Red Chapel".
