In Russia, there are awards not only for cinematographers, but also for television workers. For example, the TEFI prize is awarded annually. It becomes an encouragement both for individuals and for entire creative teams creating television programs.
The TEFI competition and awarding ceremony has been held in Russia since 1994. This ceremony became the Russian equivalent of the Emmy Award for achievements in American television. Although the Russian prize is not yet well known abroad, it is highly regarded in professional circles.
The award includes several nominations. In 2012, their number was 50. According to the rules of the award, the prize for the past year is awarded only the next year. Therefore, in May 2012, the TEFI-2011 awards were awarded for achievements in the field of television over the past year.
The decision to present the awards is made by the Academy of Russian Television, which includes directors, producers, cameramen, specialists in children's and fiction films and other television figures. Thus, the decision is made by the professional community.
Three finalists were selected in each nomination, but only one of them received the award in the form of a statuette of Orpheus. The show "ProjectorParisHilton", which is broadcast on the Perom channel, was recognized as the best infotainment program. The best sports program was the program "Real Sport", shown on "Ren-TV". Among the programs dedicated to classical music, the award was given to the program “Sati. Neskuchnaya classic”, popular among viewers of the channel“Culture”. It should be noted that the shows that receive awards are liked not only by professionals, but also by the audience. This is proved by the high ratings of the winning programs.
The most famous media personalities who received the award in 2011 were the presenters Marianna Maksimovskaya, Ivan Urgant and Alexander Gordon. Prizes were also awarded to the best producers, directors, illuminators, editors and many other people who are not present on the screen, but who play a huge role in the creation of high-quality TV shows and films.
