The reason for the exchange of a passport may be the expiration of its validity (upon reaching the age of 20 and 45, it is necessary to issue a new document with an up-to-date photograph), change of the name, rendering the document unusable (for example, the appearance of extraneous marks in it), issuance of a new passport to replace the lost one, etc. In all cases, you must contact the passport office of the housing office or the territorial division of the FMS.
It is necessary
- - completed application of the established form;
- - existing passport, if not lost;
- - certificate of registration at the place of stay (if the passport is issued not at the place of residence);
- - 2 photos;
- - documents confirming the grounds for changing the passport, if relevant (for example, a marriage certificate when changing the surname);
- - documents for affixing marks in a new passport (military ID, marriage certificate, birth certificates of children);
- - receipt of payment of state duty.
Instructions
Step 1
You can get an application form for a new passport at the passport office of the housing office at the place of residence or temporary registration, or download it on the website of the regional department of the FMS, fill it out on a computer, print it and sign it. You can also fill out an application by hand at home or directly at the passport desk or FMS department.
Step 2
On the website of the regional office of the FMS, receipts for payment of the state duty are also available for download, where you can also clarify their size, depending on the situation. They will also help in this area at the passport office, the FMS department and the Sberbank branch.
Step 3
A color or black-and-white passport photograph (35 x 45 mm in front view on a light background) will be made for you in any photo studio.
Step 4
Prepare the documents on the basis of which the marks in the passport are made: military ID, marriage certificate, birth certificates of children.
If the passport changes due to a change of surname or gender, documents will be needed to confirm this circumstance.
When applying outside of your place of residence, take a document of registration at the place of stay, if available. If it is not there, it’s not scary: you are obliged to issue your passport at the place of application.
Step 5
If you are applying for your place of residence, a new passport must be ready 10 days after they are accepted. In other cases, it is done up to 2 months.
