Biography and early years
Timofey Pavlovich was born on July 16, 1986 in Leningrad, USSR. In a large family, Timofey was the youngest, fourth son. The boy inherited the genes from his father. Pavel Mozgov is a former professional handball player. The father always wanted his sons to become athletes.
From an early age, while still in elementary school, Timofey began playing basketball at the Admiralteyskaya Sports School. When the boy was 10 years old, the family moved to the village of Enem, the Republic of Adygea. Despite the move and new living conditions, the boy did not leave the sport. For the sake of his future career, for the sake of achieving his dream, the boy had to leave every day for the Krasnodar Territory, to train with Yevgeny Lysenko. Thanks to his instructions, the boy moved to St. Petersburg and continued to study with more professional players. On the advice of the coach, at the age of sixteen, Timofey independently leaves for the St. Petersburg basketball boarding school. The first games were played as part of the LenVo team. At the youth level, he played for CSKA-VVS and Khimki, and then made his debut in the Moscow Region team.
Timofey is a fan of sports cars. Attends the rally whenever possible. By his example, he refutes the opinion that the majority of male athletes are not educated. Brain reads a lot of fiction, so friends and acquaintances consider him a rather interesting interlocutor. He also does not forget about his hometown. In 2011, in St. Petersburg, Timofey organized a tournament for young basketball players called "Brains CUP", which has now become an annual event. A year later, sports institutions from Monchegorsk, Veliky Novgorod, Cherepovets, Velsk and Vyborg were added to the St. Petersburg schools. The awards include cups, medals and basketballs with the inscription TM 25. Under number 25, Mozgov earned himself a reputation in the NVA Denver club. Professional career
Timofey's career began at Khimki. For the entire first season, Timofey participated in only 13 dreams. Since 2007, he has been transferred to the main main team. Success comes quickly to an athlete. He is gaining incredible results and sets his first record, for which he receives the award as the most valuable player of the Eurocup tour. In the match against Bilbao, he sets his next Final Eight record with five blocks. By 2010, Timofey's height was 216 cm, and his weight was 120 kg. In the Russian national team, Mozgov has always been the 4 center player, in the 2013-2014 season, thanks to a new personal record for rebounds and exceeding the achievements of previous Russians in NVA, he became the main player in the team.
In January 2015, Timofey Mozgov moved and continues to play with the Cleveland Cavaliers team. As part of his team, coach David Blatt, who in the past headed the Russian national team, wanted to see him. From the very first matches, Timofey helped the defense of his new team to become better and transform. In 2015, Mozgov joined the Russian national team to prepare for EuroBasket 2015. On July 8, 2016, Timofey signed a 4-year contract with the LA Lakers for $ 64 million. But the Russian basketball player failed to start the game in the new club, and in June 2017 he was sold to the Brooklyn Nets.
He currently plays for the Charlotte Hornets in the Southeast Division, owned since 2010 by popular American basketball player Michael Jordan.
Personal life
At the beginning of his career at the Denver Nuggets club in Colorado, Timofey Mozgov married Alla Pirshina. Because of the wrong documents, instead of getting married, they just had to get married in the Las Vegas chapel. A year after the wedding, a child was born in the Mozgov family, a son - Alexei.
