For a believer, an icon is an indispensable attribute of life. The icons illuminate the house, because the house of a Christian is a symbol of the temple of God, and each temple has its own sacred altar. In the house, the red corner with icons serves as such an altar. They say that a house without images is like without windows. But what you should know and keep in mind when decorating your home with icons.
Instructions
Step 1
The red corner is the most important and honorable place in the house. Here icons are placed in a shrine or an icon case - a special open cabinet or shelf with an icon lamp. Icons must be standing, you should not hang them. The goddess should be wooden. Often it is decorated with a special long and narrow woven towel made of homespun canvas - a god who covers the icons from above and from the sides, but does not cover the faces of the saints depicted on the images. The goddess was usually decorated with embroidery at the ends.
Step 2
Another way to decorate icons is a vest or a setting. This is an overhead decoration that covers the entire icon board on top of a layer of paint, except for the hands and faces, for which the slits are made. Vestments can be gold, silver, brass, copper, embroidered, beaded, decorated with enamel, colored glass and upholstered with velvet from the inside.
Step 3
In the temple, a lectern with an icon can be decorated with flowers. To do this, take a chipboard sheet slightly larger than the icon, cut out a square in this sheet, sufficient to place the icon inside the free space. Get a special floristic oasis in the form of a long bar in a tray, which you attach with screws to the chipboard. Then insert any suitable flowers into the oasis: roses, carnations or chrysanthemums.
Step 4
Instead of chipboard, you can make a wire frame, and fix flowers and floral greenery without an oasis with tape. However, in this case, the flowers can wither quickly. You can save flowers from wilting in this way: wrap the roots with a wet cloth and place it in a fingertip filled with water.
