Step 1
Call an ambulance immediately after an attack on you. At the same time, dial the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs number 02 or call the nearest police department on duty and report the fact of the crime. Immediately describe the signs of the offender and tell where he went. In this case, the police will have a better chance of finding the perpetrator quickly.
Step 2
Wait for the arrival of the police and receive first aid from the arrived doctors. Already during the provision of assistance, the police officers can have a short conversation with you and draw up a protocol. Describe all the details of the incident, provide information about the witnesses, if they were present at the crime scene.
Step 3
Obtain a medical certificate from the medical staff that lists the nature and extent of your injuries, the doctors' details and the time of care. In the future, you will need this document to successfully complete the case.
Step 4
If, for any reason (for example, when you receive serious injuries), you were unable to contact the police at the scene of the crime, you can submit a corresponding statement later. This can be done in the department of internal affairs on duty at your place of residence or in the prosecutor's office. Provide all the details of what happened in the application and attach the received medical certificate to it. Make sure on the spot that your application has been officially registered. You will receive a notification about the initiation of a criminal case or refusal in it no later than 10 days after the filing of the application.
Step 5
Go to the appropriate site to identify the perpetrator after receiving an official notification. You will be asked to identify the person who attacked you from several suspects. The information received from you will be recorded in the general record of the case and transferred to the court for proceedings. Also, be prepared to appear in the future on demand to the appropriate authority to participate in the trial.
