As we approach retirement age, each person has to think about the question of how to live further. After all, it is not at all easy to live off one pension. Any benefits for a pensioner are great support. And the 50 percent discount on utilities given to veterans is already a relief. But not everyone can get veteran status. So how do you get it?
It is necessary
To do this, you will need to collect all the necessary documents, namely: work books, certificates from the archives of various organizations that confirm seniority, passport, certificates of honor or gratitude, as well as, if any, orders and awards
Instructions
Step 1
The first step in obtaining veteran status is to develop work experience. According to a 1995 decree, a man who has reached the age of 60 can become a veteran, while his work experience must be at least 25 years. Women are granted veterancy upon reaching 55 years of age and at least 20 years of work experience. In addition, the right to receive this title is enjoyed by women who have given birth to at least five children, as well as mothers of children with disabilities.
Step 2
In addition to seniority, various certificates and gratitude play an important role in obtaining veterancy. Therefore, you need to make sure in advance that your employer applies for awarding you with an honorary diploma from the governing bodies of the Russian Federation. But this will only work if you work for a state-owned enterprise.
Step 3
If you have certificates of awarding medals or orders, or certificates of awarding honorary titles of the Russian Federation, or (in the amount of two or more) inventor's certificates, or patents for an invention, then the status of a veteran is laid down by law.
