Recently, people who want to receive the title of "Veteran of Labor" have to face many difficulties. The point is that since January 2005, the procedure and conditions for awarding the title "Veteran of Labor" are determined not by the federal authorities, but by the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. They also establish a specific list of benefits and compensation for veterans. At the same time, each region acts based on the calculation of its financial capabilities, so that people living in different regions of the Russian Federation are in unequal conditions.
Instructions
Step 1
Find your local Veteran of Labor law and review its requirements carefully. Pay special attention to the specific list of required awards and honors. In a number of regions, in order to obtain veteran status, it is enough just to have the appropriate work experience and reside in the region for a certain time.
Step 2
If you have every reason to obtain the status of a labor veteran, apply to the social protection authorities at your place of residence without waiting for the onset of retirement age. Be sure to take your passport and work book with you.
Step 3
If you have state and government awards: orders, medals or honorary titles, present your award documents. To confirm departmental ranks, in addition to award documents, provide also the necessary information about work experience.
Step 4
Wait for a decision. The social security authorities will send your application for conferring the title of "Labor Veteran" with all the necessary documents to the executive authorities of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, which will already take the appropriate decision. In case of refusal to assign veteran status, you and the social protection authorities will be sent a notification indicating specific reasons.
Step 5
Fight for your title! It is not uncommon for regional social security bodies to misinterpret the lists of departmental awards, and people applying for veteran status receive an unjustified refusal. If necessary, seek appropriate clarification and assistance from lawyers. If it turns out that you were really unlawfully denied the status of a labor veteran, write a statement to the prosecutor's office in order to judicially obtain the recognition of this refusal as illegal.
