One of the types of postgraduate education is postgraduate studies. Those who have a diploma of graduation from a university can continue their studies, during which they will have to carry out research work and receive an academic degree. The training of scientific personnel in the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the military department has its own characteristics. Here, the form of postgraduate education is not postgraduate studies, but postgraduate studies.
Postgraduate studies as a form of postgraduate education
In higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, one of the forms of training is postgraduate studies. In essence, it is analogous to the postgraduate study, which is available in civilian universities. An adjunct is actually a graduate student officer.
Those who succeed in completing postgraduate studies and defending a dissertation receive an academic degree and become candidates of science.
The introduction of post-graduate studies is associated with the need of society and law enforcement agencies for specialists of the highest qualifications. Continuous postgraduate education in the context of the constant development of technology and the emergence of modern types of weapons is becoming a necessity. For adjuncts, opportunities open up to plunge into scientific work, develop a theory or practice in the chosen field of activity.
Features of training in postgraduate studies
Any postgraduate program is a structural subdivision of a military university or educational institution that is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. But the overall management and control over the activities of the adjunct is carried out by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. Scientific and pedagogical personnel in postgraduate studies are trained on a targeted basis.
The selection of candidates for training is carried out in accordance with departmental instructions and the recruitment plan for educational institutions.
Candidates enter postgraduate studies on a competitive basis. To do this, they must have a diploma of completed higher education. Such postgraduate education is available for persons of secondary, senior or higher officers who have a predisposition to scientific work and specific achievements in their field of activity.
The adjunct of a military higher educational institution prepares according to special plans and programs, which are drawn up separately for full-time and part-time forms of study. Methodologists select academic disciplines and draw up a detailed schedule of the educational process, taking into account the time allotted for training. The usual duration of study is three to four years. Postgraduate study plans allow graduating specialists with qualifications at least as high school teacher.
Scientific and research work also presupposes the existence of individual plans for the preparation of adjuncts. They are developed by the trainees themselves under the guidance of a supervisor. The implementation of plans is under the control of the leadership of the adjunct. One of the types of such control is reports at the meetings of the department to which the adjunct is assigned.
Such an organization of the educational process makes it possible to make a real scientist out of an ordinary certified specialist, capable of conducting scientific, practical and pedagogical activities independently or as part of a working team. The adjunct is a real forge of personnel for institutions that are part of the system of the military department and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
