A lot of people pass through the checkpoint of the Rostov helicopter plant. Many of them, passing through the automatic doors, rush home or to work, not noticing anything, but everyone near the threshold stops, looking up. The views are attracted by a commemorative plaque-bas-relief.
It depicts Mikhail Vasilyevich Nagibin, an active, wonderful leader and an unusually kind person. In an active, fast-paced life, he managed to do a lot, maintaining a high level of economy at the level of a big city.
Time of childhood and adolescence
Mikhail Vasilyevich was born in the pre-war period in Taganrog in 1935, in the fall. My father worked at the plant as an aircraft assembler. From him the son inherited a love for the sky. The hometown had a considerable number of industrial buildings.
As a child, Misha was evacuated during the Great Patriotic War. This helped him avoid difficult memories. In 1943 Taganrog was liberated. The Nagibins' family returned home.
The boy went to school. At first I had to study in the factory building. The guys helped to restore the classrooms of the school destroyed by the invaders. Aircraft constantly flew over the city, carefully guarding the territory. He liked the lingering roar of aircraft engines.
After seven classes, the graduate entered the aviation technical school. Learning was effortless. The boy turned out to be an assiduous and interested student. The theory did not appeal to him too much. Practice aroused much more interest.
After staying at the factory and considering various instruments, the young man completely devoted himself to the chosen activity. Having received his education, Nagibin went to work at one of the oldest enterprises in the country, the plant in Taganrog, where his father worked. The novice riveter assembler quickly gained respect.
Labor career
A couple of months later, a skilled, educated guy became an assistant to the master. In the army, Mikhail served as an aviation mechanic in the military district of the capital. After completing the service, Nagibin Jr. returned to his native enterprise, where he quickly became a foreman.
At this stage, the young man realized how much knowledge he lacked. He became a student at the Novocherkassk Polytechnic Institute. The young specialist, who worked as a control foreman, has already managed to arrange his personal life, to get married.
A demanding professional, before making a final decision, always needed to study the relevant literature and documentation. Nagibin was appointed deputy head, and a year later he himself headed the machine shop. Colleagues and subordinates highly appreciated the specialist, the requirements were always met.
The young engineer was very pleased with his new position. A talented leader has always been at the center of events in production. The management placed a lot of expectations on Nagibin. After the courses, he became the chief technologist at the airline.
The plant worked on the implementation of a new direction. Serial production of TU-142M anti-submarine aircraft began. The vehicles were intended for the detection and elimination of submarines.
Before starting work, it was necessary to carefully study all the information on the construction, radically change the existing systems of the enterprise and introduce the latest technological advances. The young leader solved the problem brilliantly and in the shortest possible time. The production of new machines was delivered to the conveyor without disruptions to the appointed time.
Rewards and promotion
The colossal work done was appreciated. Nagibin was awarded many awards, and was also given a new promising appointment. The director of the enterprise decided to hand over the post to Nagibin. But the management decided to transfer the promising employee to Rostov-on-Don to improve the work of the helicopter plant. Parting with his native enterprise was not easy.
However, in 1976 Mikhail Vasilievich began performing the duties of chief engineer. Life in a large industrial city captured a specialist. A year later, he knew everyone around him well and moved his family. Most of the time was occupied by work.
Four years later, the management appointed Nagibin as the head of the enterprise. In his new responsible position, Mikhail Vasilyevich did a lot for the development of the enterprise, and for the city as a whole.
Under the skilful management, the plant turned into the largest machine-building association in the country. After a complete re-equipment, specialized workshops were created, conditions improved. The Mi-24 and Mi-26 transport helicopters were put into serial production. For them, Nagibin was awarded the Order of Lenin.
Charity
In this difficult time, the head managed to keep the company. A trade and exhibition center was erected on its territory. The profits from it were used to maintain the equipment and personnel of the plant. Employees received decent salaries.
The contribution to the city is enormous. He equipped the village's power plant, reconstructed medical and recreational complexes, repaired the school, and equipped it with computers.
Mikhail Vasilyevich is not forgotten in Rostov to this day. A memorial plaque was installed at the entrance of the Rosvertol plant. One of the city's schools is named after Nagibin.
City Avenue Oktyabrya was renamed in honor of Mikhail Vasilyevich. For a long time, the manager with phenomenal efficiency worked without days off and even minimal interruptions.
He fully devoted himself to his beloved work. The biography of Nagibin, who withstood the hardest work schedule, was cut short on the very last day of March 2000.
