Step 1
Publish on the Internet. Nowadays there are many platforms for self-expression of young authors - from the blogosphere to virtual analogs of samizdat magazines. Register and post on one or more of them to find your first reader. Do not get angry or despair if you are pointed out to mistakes or shortcomings. Rate how fair the comment is, and try to avoid such shortcomings next time. Having trained "on cats", you can move on to a more serious level of publications.
Step 2
Select the magazine in which you want to publish and contact the "dear editors". Submit your text, in person or by mail. The ideal scenario would be to find an editor in charge of the section you need in order to personally hand him the printout and disk with the manuscript (both must be signed and provided with contact information). If this is not possible, send an e-mail, or better - an ordinary paper letter, it is less likely to get lost. Write a short accompanying text: “I, such and such, bring to your attention my story. I will be glad if you find it possible to publish it on the pages of your journal. " Proofread the text well before submitting - mistakes and misprints do not color the literary work.
Step 3
Wait, occasionally reminding you of yourself with calls and / or letters. Be correct, editors are busy people. If the answer is no or no, you can send the manuscript to another edition. If the magazine is ready to take the story, but asks for edits, decide for yourself whether you are ready to agree to them for the sake of publication. For a novice author, it is wiser to agree to an edit (especially if it is minor), and still see your text on the pages of the publication. Most likely, you will be provided with an author's copy, which you can proudly show to your loved ones.
