Despite the widespread use of the Internet and television, people have not stopped reading books. And also buy them in bookstores. That is why an author who wants to publish his own work has a chance to find his audience.
Instructions
Step 1
Put the electronic version of the book on the Internet. Make it news, i.e. leave ads about it on specialized sites and social networks. Along with the announcement, give a link to download the file. At your discretion, downloading the book can be paid or free.
Step 2
Create a book site. Place information about the author (biography, photo, a few words about the book) on it. Write an article about the history of the creation of the work. Submit a few excerpts from the book so that future readers can have a rough idea of what they will be dealing with. Be sure to create a section on the site that will collect mentions of the book in the press or criticism.
Step 3
Offer the book to literary publications or critics for review. Many readers pay attention to the opinion of famous people in the field of literature, listen to it, and some are openly guided only by the "authoritative" opinion. So a good critical article or review is a great tool in popularizing any work.
Step 4
Offer the book for sale to bookstores (including online stores and second-hand booksellers). Look for them online. Now almost all large stores have their own sites. You can also contact the employees of these stores via the Internet, telephone or directly by visiting their office.
Step 5
Offer the book to a publisher if it hasn't been published yet. If the publisher agrees to release it in circulation, then you will not have to worry about its fate. Typically, large publishers enter into contracts with stores that sell their books.
Step 6
Be prepared to provide documents confirming your right to the book that you are going to distribute (or a power of attorney from the author). Especially if you plan to make commercial distribution profit.
