In Soviet Russia, this word was used to designate young men and women who are the offspring of high-ranking parents who enjoy special privileges inaccessible to other "ordinary" youth.

Majors are often infantile and not inclined to live independently, relying on the full financial support of rich dads and mothers.

Interestingly, in the classical sense, the word "major" refers to the world of music. It is not necessary to have a musical education in order to distinguish works written in the spirit of the major.
