Political views are an individual's belief system regarding the political system, attitude towards decisions made and the country's leadership. There are several types of political views, among which are indifferent.

What are the political views

Despite the diversity and individuality in political preferences, several types of political views can be distinguished. Among them:

- ultra-left - completely rejecting the state as an institution, by convictions are close to anarchism;

- the left - adherents of the communist ideology;

- moderate left - social democrats;

- center-left - social liberals;

- center-right - liberals;

- moderate right - conservative liberals;

- the right are monarchists;

- the ultra-right - nationalists and fascists.

But there are people who do not support any of the existing ideological currents and are not at all interested in politics. Such people are said to have indifferent political views (from the Latin "indifferens" - indifferent). They do not care about politics at all; often they do not even know who is part of the political elite. They do not go to elections, do not follow the electoral race, do not participate in rallies. In almost every country there are people with indifferent political views.

Indifferent political views should not be confused with protest voting. In the latter case, we are talking about dissatisfaction with the existing political system. Such people vote against everyone, not because they lack political preferences, but because they believe that none of the candidates (parties) represents their interests.

Why indifferent political views are formed

An indifferent political position is becoming more widespread in the world and there are a number of reasons for this. So, a person may lack a corresponding predisposition. He is only worried about everyday affairs, as well as what is happening in his immediate environment. Whereas global problems seem to him far enough away and are not of interest.

Another reason is that a person may not be aware of himself as part of the political sphere, i.e. does not see the relationship between his position and what is happening in the country. By the way, in many Western countries, the lack of interest in politics is due to the high standard of living, the development of rights and freedoms. Therefore, many people do not even know who is at the head of the state.

Finally, the reason for the formation of indifferent political views may lie in the fact that a person believes that he is unable to change anything and his opinion does not solve anything. It is this reason that is fundamental for the widespread political apathy in Russia. According to opinion polls, the low turnout in regional elections is due to the conviction of people that everything has already been decided for them and nothing depends on their vote.

People often feel frustrated with political leaders because they are they did not meet their expectations. Sometimes the state itself contributes to the spread of apathy by harshly cracking down on the opposition, not listening to civil initiatives and not creating effective mechanisms that ensure the connection between the state and society.

Low social activity of people is rather a negative phenomenon. After all, political passivity is the basis for the tyranny of the elite. It is even beneficial to those in power, because managing such a society is much easier. There is a well-known saying about this: "If you do not engage in politics, then politics will take over you." Therefore, only an active civic position allows you to change your life for the better.
