The post-Soviet period of Russia's development has become a stage rich in various political movements. In the nineties, many parties were created, often without a clear political program and quickly left the scene. At the same time, other parties have strengthened their influence and continue to recruit supporters. How can a resident of Moscow join one of these parties?

Step 1
Find out which political parties are currently represented in Moscow in the form of branches. In 2011, there were only seven of them: United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Patriots of Russia, Just Cause, Fair Russia, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Yabloko party. You can clarify their list on various sites, including the portal "Political Parties of the Russian Federation".
Step 2
Choose the party whose program best suits your political beliefs. Their programs can be found on the official Internet sites or in print media, if published by the party. In addition to the actual program statements, pay attention to what activities the organization conducts, what laws it supports in the State Duma (if it is represented there).
Step 3
Having chosen the party you are interested in, contact one of its branches and find out the conditions for admission to the organization. Most often, before joining the party, a kind of "probationary period" is established, during which a decision is made on the admission or non-admission of a person to the party.
Step 4
If you complete the trial period successfully, you will be prompted for letters from party members who have been in the party for at least a year, as well as approval from the party branch.
After joining the party, you will receive not only rights, but also responsibilities. Usually this is a certain set of community work, as well as the payment of membership fees. Usually these are small amounts, for example, 1% of income.
