Without building an effective model of communication between the authorities and society, as well as without forming a loyal public opinion, it is impossible to ensure stability in society and legitimize the actions of the authorities. It is the poet that politicians attach such great importance to working with public opinion.

Instructions

Step 1

The formation of public opinion is carried out through various channels of mass communication. Among them are formal (such as television, radio, press, Internet media), as well as informal (for example, rumors, gossip, delusions, myths). Today, electronic QMS is gaining more and more importance, in particular, social networks, blogs, Twitter, Youtube, etc. A proven way to influence public opinion is to attract opinion leaders - people whose opinion is respected by the population or acts as an expert.

Step 2

In our time, the media are called upon to become the fifth estate and to control the actions of politicians for the public interest. But ensuring freedom of the media in practice faces a whole range of problems. Thus, the state has exceptional ways of influencing public opinion, including propaganda and censorship. It is worth noting that these methods of influence are used not only by authoritarian states, but also by those that consider themselves to be democratic.

Step 3

Another way of shaping public opinion is the “spiral of silence”. According to the developers of this theory, a person is less likely to express his opinion if he believes that he is in the minority. This is due to the tendency of many people to conformism, i.e. to passive acceptance of dominant opinions. It is believed that this is one of the most effective ways to fight the opposition. But often the suppression of facts is carried out in order to prevent mass panic in crisis situations.

Step 4

Politicians do not always use honest methods of influencing public opinion. Thus, the "ordinary people" technique is widely used. He is especially fond of politicians. This method of manipulating public consciousness is designed to instill that a politician is one of them, a native of the people, has common goals with him and understands well their needs, despite his high office and rather big state. Often famous athletes and respected people are involved in the participation in order to spread their image directly to politicians (party). Among the favorite techniques is "forming the image of an external enemy." This method involves an attempt by politicians to write off all their failures (for example, in economic policy) on the intrigues of external aggressors, which have the goal of destabilizing the situation in the country.

Step 5

The results of public opinion polls are actively used in the formation of public opinion. Polling manipulation is especially common during elections, when citizens can change their minds at the last moment and vote for the candidate with the most support. That is why the results of public opinion polls are prohibited from publishing during the election period.
