Alice Siebold is an American writer. Widespread fame came to her after the publication of the novel "Lovely Bones", which instantly became a bestseller. In 2009, Siebold was filmed by director Peter Jackson.
Alice's creative biography began with the novel Happy, which was based on the events and experiences of the writer in her youth. The book did not become popular, but, as Siebold herself stated, this novel was only a preliminary version of her future great work.
Alice is the recipient of several prestigious literary awards, including: the Bram Stoker Award for Best Horror Writing, the American Association of Book Distributors Award.

The girl was born in the fall of 1963 in the United States. Her parents were teachers. My father taught Spanish at the University of Pennsylvania.
Alice spent her childhood in a small town near Philadelphia. Since childhood, she dreamed of becoming a writer, and the girl's favorite pastime was reading books.
Siebold does not like to remember his relationship with his family. She always believed that her parents did not pay enough attention to her and were not particularly interested in her life.
The girl studied in the city of Malvern at the Great Valley High School. After receiving her primary education, she entered the university in the literary department.
When Alice was in her freshman year, a terrible thing happened to her. One evening, returning home in the evening, she was attacked by a maniac and was raped. The police, where she turned after the crime, told the girl that she was very lucky, because the previous victim had been killed by a rapist. The shock she experienced affected the mental health of the girl, she spent several months at home without going outside.
After a few months, Alice was able to return to her studies. One day she saw a criminal on the street and immediately turned to the nearest police station for help. The man was detained. He was soon sentenced to a long term. Siebold appeared in court and testified against the rapist.
After graduating from the university, the girl decided to continue her studies in graduate school. After 2 years, she was expelled from the university due to drug problems. Alice managed to avoid serious addiction and, after undergoing rehabilitation, she began to look for work. At first, the girl worked in a small publishing house and tried to write poetry and stories. Only a few years later she managed to create the first work based on the events that happened to her in her youth.
In 1995, Siebold decided to go back to school. She entered the literature department of the University of California.
Literary career
Alice's first novel was published in 1999 and was called Happy. This is an autobiographical work in which the writer tried to tell about the terrible event that happened to her during her studies at the university, when the girl was subjected to violence.
The second work was published in 2002 and received the title "Lovely Bones". The book instantly became a bestseller, and a few years later it was filmed. The dramatic film The Lovely Bones was directed by P. Jackson. The picture was released in 2009 and caused mixed reviews from viewers and film critics.
The success of the work allowed Siebold to continue his literary career. A third book, Nearly the Moon, was soon written, again focusing on domestic violence and relationships. The work was published in 2007 and received positive reviews from readers.
Personal life
Little is known about Alice's personal and family life. She was married to writer and screenwriter Glen David Gold.
The young people met in their student years, and in 2001 they became husband and wife. This marriage was not a happy one for Alice. After a few years, the couple broke up. They had no children.
Currently, the writer lives in San Francisco and continues to engage in literary work.
