The satellite town of Lesnaya Polyana is a residential area of the city of Kemerovo, Kemerovo region, in the south of western Siberia in the Kuznetsk coal basin (Kuzbass). The city covers an area of 16, 15 km2 and is designed for a population of 30 thousand people. The construction of the city began in 2007, the first residents settled in at the end of 2008.
The main thesis of the Lesnaya Polyana construction project is a new quality of life. The task of the satellite city is to unite people into a single community, to create a new way of urban life in nature, which combines urban communal comfort with clean air. The design of the city provides for its development on 40% of the area, the rest of the city - recreational areas of untouched wildlife.
The construction of the satellite city is being implemented within the framework of a national project that combines international and Russian urban planning standards. The infrastructure of the city combines comfortable housing, education, security, development of sports and recreation. On the territory of Lesnaya Polyana, it is planned to build such objects as a knowledge center, a technopark, a clinic, a sports center, kindergartens, schools, shopping centers, as well as apartment buildings and individual residential buildings. One of the features of construction is a wide variety of housing options, incl. by the level of affordability. The most advanced technologies in the field of housing and communal services are used. It is planned to develop a system of open parks, squares, courtyards, and ensure transport accessibility.
For the purpose of progressive education, it is planned to use innovative teaching methods in all school and preschool institutions. Primary schools and preschool institutions are located in forested areas. The Knowledge Center includes services for student services and the organization of sports and recreational activities. Each district of the satellite city has its own kindergarten with a swimming pool.
In order to form a healthy lifestyle, the city has all the necessary conditions for physical culture and sports. The multifunctional sports and recreation complex provides ample opportunities for recreation and sports (swimming pool, gym, fitness rooms, playgrounds). In addition, since 2008. after the appearance of the Sportgrad complex, the annual sports event "Ski Track of Russia" is held on its territory (the sports complex includes an ice rink, children's slides, cross-country skiing tracks).
Accessibility and equal social environment
The satellite town of Lesnaya Polyana is being implemented within the framework of the Russian national project “Comfortable and Affordable Housing”. The peculiarity of the city is the creation of a uniform social environment, and not the construction of a new expensive cottage community. The priority is the construction of housing for families with different income levels and the creation of modern social and business infrastructure. Considerable attention is paid to the construction of housing for young families and certain privileged categories of citizens.
One of the basic tasks of the city is to create a dynamic economy with the aim of sustainable socio-economic development of the satellite city. Affordable and comfortable living and working conditions that meet international standards, incl. for young families, are one of the main conditions for innovation, the development of creativity and successful business, which gives rise to the creation of a technopark here and the development of new areas of the economy.
