Matthew Reese Evans is a Welsh actor. He is familiar to Russian viewers thanks to his role as Philip Jennings in the famous television series The Americans (2013–2018), for which he received two Golden Globe nominations and Primetime Emmy nominations.

Biography
Matthew Reese was born in Cardiff in 1974 to Welsh parents. He spent all his childhood in Wales, studied in national schools, where they taught in Welsh. Reese studied very well and was awarded a Patricia Rothermere Fellowship in 1993.
While still at school, Matthew began acting in amateur performances. The most important role that prompted him to go the acting path was the role of Elvis Presley in the school musical. After this performance, he realized that he wanted to become an actor.
Therefore, after graduating from school, Reese applied to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and was admitted to it without any conditions. By the way, his older sister Rachel was educated at the same academy, now she works as a journalist for the BBC.
