Musician biography
Alexey Vitalievich Arkhipovsky was born on May 15, 1967 in the southern Russian city of Tuapse, on the Black Sea coast, in a family of ordinary workers. His father, Vitaly Alekseevich, worked all his life at a shipyard, as a welder, and his mother, Lyubov Ilyinichna, was a school teacher.
From early childhood, little Alexey was drawn to music, finding all kinds of objects and tapping out familiar rhythms with them. The boy's first music teacher was his father, who played the accordion excellently and was even awarded an honorary diploma. Having mastered the accordion first, and then the accordion, Aleksey Vitalievich entered and graduated with honors from the Music Institute in the balalaika class, which allowed him to become a virtuoso of his craft. Playing several folk instruments with the same skill, he more than once became a prize-winner of all kinds of musical competitions at a young age.
The beginning of a musical career
Having left for the Smolensk region, Alexey Vitalievich got into the Russian folk orchestra, but the young artist did not particularly like the performance of folk and classical music there. Arkhipovsky tries to find any ways for his experiments with instruments. Having found their own unique technique of playing the balalaika, ordinary compositions acquired a new, unique sound in the hands of the master.
A new step in the career ladder for Alexei Arkhipovsky begins after 10 years of his service in the orchestra. In 1997, the artist received an invitation to the People's Orchestra "Russia", under the direction of Lyudmila Zykina. After a while, having proved himself to be a fantastic musician, Arkhipovsky became the soloist of the ensemble. Having visited with concert programs in many cities and countries, Alexey Vitalievich leaves the band, and since 2002 begins a solo career.
World glory
Presenting modern and folk music in an unusual performance, Alexey Arkhipovsky has gained unprecedented fame and a huge number of fans around the world. Collaborating with Dmitry Malikov and Stas Namin, the artist took part in many musical projects and festivals in Western Europe and Asia. In 2009 he was invited to the opening of the world music contest "Eurovision", and a year later, to the opening of the Olympic Games.

The couple has been married for more than 20 years, they are raising their only son, Ilya. The son is not fond of music, but he is very proud of his father and loves his works.
