Alexander Sklyar is a famous Russian rock musician and radio host. The permanent leader of the Va-bank group. In 2015 he received the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. At the same time, Sklar began his career as the USSR ambassador to North Korea.
Biography
Alexander Feliksovich Sklyar was born in Moscow in 1958, on March 7. The boy's father was a scientist, and his mother worked as a journalist. Alexander was very active from childhood and loved sports. He did everything that was available: he played football in the yard, attended the karate section, was enthusiastically engaged in swimming and even received a category in this sport. For a long time he was fond of alpine skiing, but due to a severe injury received on the mountain descent, he was forced to give up sports altogether.
Sklyar graduated from school with honors and decided to enter the prestigious university MGIMO at the Faculty of International Relations. Upon admission, there were no problems and already in 1979 he completed his studies. Then he went to work by profession and moved to the DPRK where for five years he served as a diplomat.
Career
His musical career began with a placement in the Kurchatov House of Culture as artistic director. Sklyar treated his work with love and fulfilled his duties one hundred percent. Often he organized concerts of already famous rockers, including: the group "Alisa", "Bravo" and the group of Viktor Tsoi "Kino".
In March 1986, Alexander decided to organize his own team, which was named "Va-bank". For the first time in the history of the USSR, the group managed to get to the foreign rock festival "Rob Reggae". The group's first album was released in the same 1986. In total, the discography of the famous collective includes 16 discs.
In addition to working in his own group, Alexander Sklyar is also engaged in solo work, so he splashes out what he cannot realize as part of a group. The first such work was titled Towards Tango and was released in 1998. In total, the artist has recorded 10 independent records. In 2008, at one of the talk shows, the creator of the group announced the completion of the joint work and now Sklyar will perform all projects under his own name.
Alexander Sklyar is always open to everything new in the world of creativity and willingly participates in the projects of other musicians and artists. So in the middle of the 2000s, Sklyar took part in Gleb Samoilov's project "Raquel Meller - Farewell Dinner", the series of programs was devoted to the work of Alexander Vertinsky. In 2014 he performed at a charity concert in support of the referendum in Crimea. He also performed in Donbass and Lugansk.
Personal life
Alexander Sklyar does not like to advertise his personal life, it is only known that his wife's name is Elena and they have a son, Peter. It is worth noting that the son of a talented artist followed in his father's footsteps and in 2016 presented the public with an independent work, which was called "Slovoografika". The work is a visualization of folk proverbs and sayings.
