Unfortunately, sometimes, for reasons beyond your control, a package that is of great importance to you disappears somewhere. And you have no idea about the actions that need to be taken in the current circumstances, and you have no idea where and how to look for the lost package. But there is a way out.

Step 1
In accordance with modern forwarding technology, any registered postal item is assigned a postal identifier (unique number) and information about the parcel (at each stage) is entered into the postal item control and accounting system.
Step 2
This information can be useful to you if you decide to use the Internet to search for a lost package. To do this, go to the official website of the Russian post office and in the "Track mailing" section, enter the unique number assigned to the parcel in a special window (enter the identifier without brackets). This way you can see where your package is "stuck".
Step 3
If a request on the Internet did not bring the expected results (or you decided not to use this method), then there is another opportunity to track down the package.
Step 4
Write an application to search for a parcel at the post office. The postal officer will ask you to attach some documents to the application, without which the application may simply not be accepted. If they do not want to register your application and are refused a search, be sure to ask for a written refusal indicating the reason.
Step 5
Provide sender details, mailing number (or tracking number). Using this information, the Russian post will send the necessary request to the country of departure to clarify information about the fate of the specified parcel.
Step 6
Your package may be delayed by customs. An error may also occur, as a result of which the package intended for you will be sent to an unknown address. Unfortunately, this happens quite often.
Step 7
One way or another, do not sit idly by. Take all possible actions that can speed up the search. Call the post office, customs, ask the sender to also ask for help in finding the lost mail item.
