Rim Akhmedov is a writer, literary translator and connoisseur of the flora of his native Bashkiria. His books are imbued with love for nature, in them he shared the ancient secrets of herbal medicine. Critics called Akhmedov a singer of Bashkir nature.
Biography: early years
Rim Bilalovich Akhmedov was born on October 29, 1933 in Ufa. His parents devoted their lives to pedagogy. One more son and daughter grew up in the family.
Already in early childhood, Rome fell in love with the nature of his native Bashkiria thanks to his parents, who often arranged family trips. At school, he spent a lot of time reading, preferring classical literature. Then Rome first tried to write poetry.
Akhmedov's works began to be published in periodicals when he turned 18. So, his poems were often published in "Rural Life" and "Soviet Bashkiria". He also appeared in collections.
In 1953, Rome moved to the capital, where he became a student at the Institute of Literature. After receiving his diploma, Akhmedov stayed in Moscow. He got a job as a screenwriter on television. So, in 1960, according to the script of Rome, they staged a multi-part film "Does not appear on the map."
Three years later, he returned to his small homeland and got a job at the television and radio company in Bashkiria. Soon after his scripts came out the pictures "Native Melodies" and "We Draw".
Books
In 1974 the collection “Flowers from under the snow” was published with stories about the exploits of fellow countrymen during the war. A year later, The Missing River was published, which tells young readers about the builders of hydroelectric power stations.
In the 70s, Rome became interested in studying the nature of Bashkiria, in particular its flora. He has published several books on this topic. In them Akhmedov sang odes to Bashkir beauties, many places of his native land, which are covered with legends. Even then, he was well known in Bashkiria as a connoisseur of local nature. Later, the book "Overcome the Grass" was published, which glorified Rome far beyond the borders of its native land. It collected unique recipes for herbal medicine and real stories of healing people.
In parallel, Akhmedov translated the works of Bashkir writers into Russian. So, he worked on the books of such famous fellow countrymen as Gilemdar Ramazanov, Khadia Davletshina, Galimjan Ibragimov. The latter entrusted the translation of his legendary three-volume historical novel "Kinzia" only to Akhmedov. Ibragimov told the Writers' Union that the work requires a venerable translator. And he considered only Akhmedov as such.
Rome is an Honored Worker of Culture of Bashkiria, he has received regional awards, in particular "For Services to Ufa". His books have won several literary awards.
Personal life
Rim Akhmedov was married. In marriage, a daughter, Lilia, was born. She continued her father's work. Lilia is engaged in herbal medicine and leads receptions of people, as Rim Akhmedov himself once did.
He died on January 25, 2017 at the age of 85. Buried in his native Ufa.
