Step 1
To obtain Russian citizenship, an Uzbek needs to apply to the migration service at the Russian embassy with a request to issue a migration card and a residence permit. A foreigner can obtain the rights to Russian citizenship after 5 years of permanent legal residence in Russia. However, there are a number of points that give him the right to obtain Russian citizenship under a simplified scheme, six months after filing an application for citizenship.
Step 2
So, the right to simplify the acquisition of Russian citizenship belongs to persons who have at least one parent, a citizen of Russia, as well as persons who lived and live in the states of the former Soviet Union and did not receive citizenship at the same time. The simplified scheme for obtaining Russian citizenship applies to people who studied after July 1, 2002 in Russian universities, technical schools and vocational schools, and who have a corresponding diploma. Those born on the territory of the RSFSR also have the right to simplify the acquisition of citizenship.
Step 3
If there is a spouse, a citizen of the Russian Federation, after three years of marriage, his husband or wife can become a citizen of the Russian Federation under a simplified scheme. The fact that disabled persons have adult and capable children, citizens of the Russian Federation, gives their parents the right to acquire Russian citizenship. To a certain extent, a simplified scheme can also be applied to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Step 4
If, for example, one spouse has Russian citizenship, the other can come to him, and at his place of residence receive a migration card from the internal affairs bodies, having issued a temporary residence permit in Russia for three years. After three years, he can apply for Russian citizenship under the simplified system.
Step 5
Applications for admission to the citizenship of the Russian Federation are generally considered for a period of up to one year from the date of submission of all documents. For consideration of applications in a simplified manner, six months are given from the date of submission of all documents.
