Galimov Alexander Saidgereevich is a famous Russian hockey player. He played as a right-handed striker in the Lokomotiv hockey club. Killed in a plane crash on September 7, 2011.
Biography
The future hockey player was born in May 1985 on the second day in the Russian city of Yaroslavl. From an early age, Alexander was a very active child, he also loved various playing sports. Since there is a very good hockey academy in Yaroslavl, the parents decided to send their child to this sport. For the first time, Alexander skated at the age of five, from that moment she practically did not leave the ice.
Career
The progress of the energetic youth was obvious, and soon he became a key figure in the Lokomotiv-85 team of his age. In this composition, the sports team became the champion of the country three times in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Sergey's contribution was so great that the club's management decided to transfer the talented player to the double of the senior Lokomotiv-2 team, which played in the first league. At the end of the season, the team won the championship, and Alexander added another trophy to his asset.
Two years later, Galimov was transferred to the main team of Lokomotiv. Until 2008, the club played in the Russian Super League, the country's main tournament. In 2008, the Continental Hockey League was created, which included the best clubs of the representative countries. The Russian side also included HC Lokomotiv. In the first year of the creation of the league, the club from Yaroslavl managed to climb the prize pedestal, following the results of the tournament, the Lokomotiv players received silver medals. The next year, 2009, Loko again found itself in the top three, but again it was a little short of the championship and the winners repeated their last year's result.
International performances
Galimov played for the youth squads of the Russian national team. In 2005, at the World Championships, the guys from the national team won silver medals. In 2009, Alexander was first announced to the main team. As part of the Karjala Cup, Galimov played three matches. In total, Andrey had nine matches for the main national team of the country.
Personal life and death
The famous hockey player was married to Marina Galimova. In 2009, the couple had a daughter, who was named Christina.
Alexander Saidgereevich died tragically at the age of twenty-six. On September 7, 2011, news feeds and TV coverage shocked the entire country. HC “Lokomotiv” was supposed to go to the return match with the Belarusian club “Dynamo” from Minsk. But at the time of takeoff, the Yak-42 club plane crashed and all the people on board died.
