Biography

The future athlete was born in April 1990 on the thirteenth in the small Latvian town of Liepaja. Nastya was a very active child and from an early age showed an increased interest in sports.

In the nineties, tennis began to gain great popularity in the countries of the post-Soviet space. Nastya fell in love with this sport, and the family decided to send their daughter to the tennis section. True, the girl had congenital problems with her legs, but in tennis this deficiency turned out to be uncritical and can be completely solved due to special shoes.

Career

For the first time in the BTA rating, Sevastova appeared at the age of fifteen, she made her debut in a professional tournament for the national team in 2005 as part of the Federation Cup. In the summer of the same year, the girl played in a series held in Germany. The next year, she tried her hand at clay and reached the final twice, in one of which Sevastova won the first trophy in her career. In the same 2006, Anastasia was noted in the BTA world ranking, in which she took a fairly effective 529 line.

2007 also brought several big victories, including a match against Anastasia Ekimova. This was the first top 100 rival in Sevastova's career. Over the year, it has risen from 529 to 267 in the overall ranking. In the summer of 2008, the promising tennis player tried her hand at the most prestigious tennis competition, the Grand Slam tournament. The beginning was the qualification for Wimbledon, but unfortunately, Sevastova did not manage to win a single match, and she left the tournament with nothing.

In 2011, Sevastova started having problems with her hip. The season was very unsuccessful, and the girl emotionally decided to end her career. After several performances at the beginning of 2012, she left the big sport. And three years later, the Latvian tennis player returned to the court, and with renewed vigor she began to take one height after another. We haven't managed to win big trophies yet, but progress is obvious. Three years after the break, Sevastova reached the top 20 in the world rankings and secured the twelfth position.

Personal life

The famous tennis player does not particularly like to disclose information about her personal life. Nevertheless, in an interview, she said that after a long break in her sports career, her beloved Ronald Schmidt helped her return to the court. He not only encouraged the girl and set her up for new victories, but also served as her personal trainer.

Despite some secrecy, Sevastova has a profile on the Instagram social network, where she mainly shares her sports successes and achievements with fans.
