From a young age, his voice was so angelic that it seduced and attracted hundreds, millions of fans and admirers, regardless of country of residence, social status and age. By what forces was this happy gift given to the world, which makes you bow down, awakens and quivering admiration, but also passion and desires that are far from angelic?

The divine sound of the magic voice of a young Italian boy, preserved on audio media, has fascinated listeners all over the world for many decades. If he wanted, and if the forces that gave this voice were on the side of evil, then he could well lead millions anywhere, like the young rat-catcher from the fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm. But, probably, the true divine principle was really present in this gift, since its owner, neither in childhood, nor in adulthood, never used it for evil.

Childhood

Roberto Loretti was born immediately after the war - in 19947, the fifth child in a very poor family. The family could not afford another baby, since the father and mother sometimes literally did not know how to feed four babies. Therefore, despite being religious, Roberto's mother wanted to have an abortion. It was then that the first miracle happened: in the hospital she felt unwell and she either actually saw a wonderful baby who gave her candy and asked her not to do anything bad, or it was a vision. Luckily for her entire family and the world, she changed her mind. And then she gave birth to three more children. The second miracle happened when the baby sang for the first time - sang like an angel sent from heaven.

Eight years later, little Roberto was already singing in the choir of the Rome Opera House. Thirteen later, after another performance in the Roman cafe “Grande Italia” on the Ephedra square, with the famous Neapolitan song “O Sole Mio”, world fame swept over his fate. It was in this cafe that the fateful meeting of Roberto and the Danish TV producer Sayer Volmer-Sørensen took place, who turned Roberto's young talent into a world-class star - Robertino Loretti.

Youth

The life of young Robertino turned into a continuous tour. The cities of Europe and the United States flashed one after another, sold-out halls were replaced by a recording studio, and again in a circle. Producer Cyre Wolmer-Sørensen was well aware that the unique boyish "white voice" would not last forever.

The laws of nature are implacable and mutation is only a matter of time. Therefore, he squeezed everything possible from the chance he got. It is because of such a sober approach to the talent who signed a contract with him that the inhabitants of the former USSR have never heard a live performance of a small Italian miracle. Despite the immense popularity in the Soviet Union, and the desire of the boy himself, who received bags of letters from fans from different parts of the huge country, the producer considered that the trip would be unprofitable, since the country was huge, but the inhabitants in it were too poor to be able to pay the established usual European fee for a guest performer.

This is how a legend appeared in the USSR, written within the gray walls of the relevant department, that Robertino Loretti had lost his unique voice. Thanks to this legend, Robertino practically died in the USSR. That is why, during perestroika, for many of his fans the information that the singer is alive, healthy, well-fed, and even still performs successfully, was almost a shock.

Maturity

Only in 1989, when the singer was already a little over forty, the inhabitants of one-sixth of the land were able to see and hear him. It was then that the old deception was revealed. Yes, the voice of an adult Robertino Loretti has certainly ceased to be childishly angelic, but it has acquired the maturity and power of a dramatic tenor, or rather a lyric baritone. Professional strength, multiplied by a charmingly romantic, truly masculine color.

Of course, the restructuring of the voice for the singer was not completely painless, not at all. Bound by contractual obligations, he could not, as doctors and wise conservative professors advised, give his voice 4-5 months to rest. Robertino's voice did not break, but during the filming of the film "Cavalina Rossa" he caught a cold and became seriously ill. For a while, the illness really affected the purity of the sound of the timbre. However, everything worked out: the miracles of medicine, in the person of one of the luminaries of Roman medicine, put Roberto on his feet and not a boy, but an accomplished performer Robertino Loretti returned to Copenhagen, returned to the stage. It took him a little time to learn to cope with his new voice, to educate him - his new sound. But this did not take more than a year and a half.

Yes, the former glory was gone. And not so much because of the change in voice, but because of the changes in the preferences of the public. In the mid-60s, rock and roll, rock and heavy instrumentalism came into vogue. For many years, new directions ousted beautiful Neapolitan and traditional Italian songs from the stage.

Fortunately, the law of cyclicality also works in music and, by the beginning of the 80s, interest in the genre, in which Loretti did not stop performing from time to time, between worries about his considerable business, returned again.

Robertino Loretti October 22, 2014 will be sixty-seven years old. He is in excellent creative form, full of energy, continues to tour, educate young musicians, enjoy life and delight fans of his talent in different parts of the world.
