If asked about this an ordinary schoolchild or student, sadly sighing day after day over vast tables of irregular verbs and trying to memorize the basics of grammar, he would answer: "In order to get a good grade in half a year." Further prospects in the study of the language are hidden from him. Why? Because before talking about how useful knowledge of foreign languages is for comprehending the world, it is necessary to provide opportunities for their application.

And really, why say that foreign languages are necessary to get a prestigious job or travel abroad without a dictionary, if many of us only have to dream about both? It would seem, what is easier: to spend a year or two or three on mastering the language - and the dream will come true. However, it should not be disregarded that in these few years it is necessary for the future polyglot to be fed, put on, and put on shoes and provided him with funds (sometimes considerable) to learn the language. Usually he does this himself, to the best of his strength and capabilities.

Thus, everything depends on the personal desire of a person, guided by career, status, intellectual and other goals? Not certainly in that way. In order to really know a foreign language, you need to learn to see the world as a natural speaker does. In this, of course, the Internet can partly help today, which provides an opportunity for virtual travel to almost any country in the world and communication with its inhabitants. But in perfection - with the whole structure of thoughts and feelings - it is impossible to learn a single language of the world, especially not at school age.

There is only one way out - to start learning languages with the child practically from the cradle. And for this, adults need to understand that languages are needed both for obtaining information from the primary source, which is indispensable in the modern world, and for improving communication skills and developing intellectual abilities. But parents - like millions and billions of parents around the world - are busy only with worrying about their daily bread. Sometimes forgetting that a high level of intellectual development is no less important. At least in order to increase the well-being of the family in the near future.

Knowledge of languages, in the end, is the ability to see perspectives and set realistic goals for oneself, in the formation of which one can use the most powerful human weapon - intellect.
