Russian citizens receive passports at the age of 14. Then at the age of 20 and 45, the passport blanks are changed to new ones. Also, a new passport will have to be obtained when changing the last name or first name (some people even change their appearance and gender). Finally, a passport can simply be accidentally washed in an automatic machine or even lost. So, what does a Russian citizen need to get or replace a passport?
Instructions
Step 1
Pay the state fee for issuing a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation in the amount of 200 rubles. (in case of loss or theft of a passport, as well as when replacing a document that has become unusable, the state fee is 500 rubles), take black and white or color photographs 35x45 mm in size (2 pcs., and in case of loss or theft - 4 pcs.) … In some departments of the FMS there is an opportunity to take photographs directly upon contact.
Step 2
Come in person to the FMS authorities at your place of residence or stay. In addition to photographs and a receipt for payment of the state duty, take a birth certificate and all documents necessary for affixing marks in the passport (birth certificates of minor children, marriage certificate, military ID, documents confirming Russian citizenship, etc.). If for some reason you change your passport, do not forget to take it with you in order to submit it to the Federal Migration Service. If you have lost your passport, apply with the appropriate application to the ATS units and provide the FMS with a notification coupon about the registration of the incident.
Step 3
Fill out an application for the issuance (replacement) of a passport according to the established model. The application should be filled in legibly in block letters by hand; if technical means are available, it can also be printed out. Submit the completed application and all the necessary documents to an employee of the Federal Migration Service, who will check their compliance with existing requirements. If you did everything correctly, then you can get a new passport of a citizen of Russia in 10 days. If the passport is issued not at the place of permanent registration, you will have to wait 2 months. During the waiting period, the FMS authorities can issue a temporary certificate confirming the identity of a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Step 4
Go to the Federal Migration Service in person to obtain a passport. Check the correctness of the information entered in the passport. If you find any inaccuracies, inform the FMS employee about it immediately so that the passport can be changed. In this case, you will not have to pay the state duty again. Submit your Temporary Citizen ID (if you received one). Sign with a gel pen in the prescribed place on the second page of the passport and in the application for its issuance. Get your brand new passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation from the FMS employee. Keep it safe - this is your main document!
