Instructions

Step 1

Apply for a passport in your country. Do not forget to do it for children under the age of fourteen who can travel with you.

Step 2

Make copies of all available documents in advance. Take two color photos on matte 3x4 paper.

Step 3

Order translation of all documents into Russian. This procedure can be done in Russia as well, where there are a number of translation centers. Have the translation certified by a notary.

Step 4

Your employer must have on hand two conclusions justifying the need to hire foreigners, agreed with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

Step 5

Register at the place of stay through the post office, where you will be given a questionnaire to fill out. To do this, you must have two passports with you (yours and the owner of the apartment) and a migration card issued when crossing the border. Submit your application in the presence of the landlord you are registering with. The postal officer will return you a stamped stub of the application form that the documents have been accepted. From now on you will be legally residing in Russia.

Step 6

Sign a contract with your employer. Read it carefully before signing. If something does not suit you, ask to change this clause of the agreement.

Step 7

Within ten days, contact the territorial office of the Federal Migration Service: provide an application, a migration card with a mark on crossing the border, a receipt for payment of the state duty (one thousand rubles) and a passport with a translation certified by a notary. Be sure to leave your phone number so that you can call back if necessary.

Step 8

Get a medical examination within thirty days. Naturally, you will have to pay for this procedure, since medical care is free only for citizens of the Russian Federation.

Step 9

Submit medical certificates in Russian to the Federal Migration Service, confirming that you have no dangerous diseases (tuberculosis, syphilis, leprosy, chlamydial lymphogranuloma, chancroid), as well as a certificate from the narcological dispensary.

Step 10

Obtain a work permit in the Russian Federation and start your career.
