The American TV series "Hercules", which was filmed in the period from 1995 to 1999 in the picturesque expanses of New Zealand, is one of the most popular adaptations of the ancient Greek legends about Hercules. Many fans of this series would like to see its sequel - so should we expect new adventures of the son of Zeus and a mortal woman?
Description
The series takes place during the time of ancient Greece, when people coexisted with gods, demons and other mythical monsters. Hercules and his faithful friend Iolaus travel the mainland, simultaneously getting involved in various adventures, punishing criminals and protecting ordinary people from villainous tyranny. In the course of these adventures, Hercules and Iolaus acquire many enemies, allies and friends, fall in love, lose loved ones and survive the blows of fate, relying on each other.
The main plot thread stretches through the entire series - Hercules wants to destroy his stepmother Hera, who is supported by the hero's stepbrother - the god of war Ares.
The role of the noble Hercules was played by the American actor Kevin Sorbo. The series brought him immense popularity and love of the audience from around the world. In addition, Kevin managed to bring to life the ancient Greek legendary hero with maximum reliability, which made him Hercules the best among other similar films about him. A perfectly recreated ancient world filled with a diverse bestiary, interesting characters and excellent special effects also became the decoration of the series.

During the filming of the series "Hercules" six seasons were filmed, consisting of 111 episodes. The first season consisted of 13 episodes, the second - 24 episodes, the third - 22 episodes, the fourth - 22, the fifth - 22, and the final sixth - 8 episodes. The series was preceded by five pilot films such as Hercules and the Amazon Women, Hercules and the Lost Kingdom and Hercules and the Circle of Fire, as well as Hercules in the Kingdom of the Dead and Hercules and the Labyrinth of the Minotaur.
The last film, in fact, was a compilation of shots from the previous films of this cycle.
Hercules has become one of the largest joint television projects in the history of world television. In Russia, it was broadcast by such channels as STS, ORT, NTV, TV3 and Disney. Children watched "Hercules" with particular pleasure, and the series instilled in them a love of ancient history, myths and legends, which were described in school textbooks in an uninteresting and dry language.
Unfortunately, its creators do not plan to shoot the continuation of the series, but in the near future the full-length film "Hercules: The Beginning of the Legend" will be released, which will tell the full story of the life of the great ancient Greek fighter against evil.
