To get through to Kiev, you need to find out several digital codes. These can be codes of Ukraine, city, access to a dedicated telephone line, and others. Depending on which dialing method you choose, the general combination of numbers will change.

Step 1
When calling from your home phone, dial 8 and wait for a long beep. After that, press 10 - the international access code, and then the code of Ukraine 380 and Kiev - 44. Next, there should be seven digits of the city phone number. In general, the set number will look like this: 8-10-380-44-XXX-XX-XX.
Step 2
If you need to dial a number from a mobile, the first two digits in this sequence (8 and 10) can be skipped. You just have to press +38044 and the subscriber's number. The whole combination is dialed in a row, there is no need to wait for dial tone.
Step 3
When trying to call Kiev from another city in Ukraine, the country code is not needed. However, its last digit must be placed before the area code - it provides access to a long-distance line. That is, you need to dial 044 and the landline number.
Step 4
If you are not satisfied with the cost or quality of international calls when making a call from your home phone, buy a phone card. After examining the rates of different companies, you can find the most profitable one. To make a call at the selected price, put your phone in tone dialing mode. On the card, erase the cover that hides the pin code. Following the instructions on the back of the card, dial the access number, enter the pin code, and then the Kiev number. Depending on the type of card, you may need to put additional characters (# or *) before or after the number.

A call can be made without the aid of a telephone set, if you and the person you want to call have a computer, microphone and headphones. Download the program for free voice communication (for example, it is possible in Mail.ru Agent and Skype) and call the subscriber's computer. The quality of such a connection depends on the speed of the Internet connection.
Step 6
With the help of Skype, you can call not only a computer, but also any number in Kiev (except for emergency numbers). Such a call will no longer be free. After registering in Skype, go to the program website, select the "Options" section, and in it - "Calls". Choose the tariff and payment method that suits you. After depositing money into the account, you can call. Open the program window. Click on the "Dial the number" button, select the icon with the signature "Ukraine" and dial the number taking into account the country and Kiev codes.
