Biography

Sergey Savitsky was born in the Belarusian city of Vitebsk in 1966. After leaving school, he entered the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute in Minsk, where he was educated as an engineer in 1991.

Very soon, events took place that destroyed the Soviet Union. Even then, the young promising specialist understood that the restructuring that had come to the post-Soviet space would force many to reconsider their views on life, on business, on work.

New thinking helped Savitsky to make the right decision: a year after graduation, he became the head of the sales department of the Atlant-M holding, which, by the way, he founded together with his comrades. They understood that they were ambitious, that there was a risk that they might burn out, but they could not have it any other way.

The holding developed quite quickly precisely due to the fact that they took risks and won. Two years later, the young team began looking for ways to interact with foreign car manufacturers. They thought for a long time who to bet on, and chose Volkswagen. It was the right choice, the right decision, from which many have benefited.

At that time, cars of this brand were very popular in Belarus, and the young team's business was progressing quickly. In 1994, the first Volkswagen sales center was opened, and Savitsky became its head.

It would seem, what is even more ambitious than selling cars of this brand in your country? But no, Savitsky did not think to stop, and now auto centers from the parent company have appeared in Russia and Ukraine.

New cars appeared in the price list, a new strategy was developed for each auto center, but Volkswagen is still selling the best - it's like a first love.

Currently, Savitsky is the CEO and member of the Board of Directors of the Atlant-M international automobile holding, often occupying places of honor in various ratings of professional managers.

The secret of success

When journalists ask Savitsky about the secret of success, he names quite a few components, but in each phrase the idea that you need to select a good team sounds like a refrain. In other words, for Sergei Nikolaevich there have always been the main people who work with him. He is looking for those who are as ambitious and motivated as himself. Such as they were with their friends when they created their holding and promoted it.

Savitsky believes that the one who has managed to gather like-minded people around himself, organize and direct them, and not drive and force, wins in the competitive struggle.

And also - the attitude towards customers and partners. All business participants should be profitable and everyone should be satisfied.

Also, Atlant-M has developed its own strategy: not to build dozens of small auto centers in different cities, but to focus on the largest cities and build large auto centers in them. As time has shown, this strategy has borne fruit. On this occasion, the leaders of the holding even came up with their own motto: "We will sow pumpkins, not peas." Pumpkins are large divisions of the holding with a large number of employees and the ability to serve a large number of clients.

Business goals

Savitsky does not like to voice his goals, he simply says that he plans for about a decade in advance, and so far everything is being realized.

He sees his tasks as a leader in developing long-term strategies and defining the main points for the formation of the holding's competitiveness.

And he also notes the desire to want, be able and do as an indispensable condition for a leader. And this is a condition for the whole team.

One of his main qualities Savitsky calls perfectionism - he always wants things to be done at the highest level.

That is why Atlant-M is now starting to focus on luxury brands and cooperate with brands that produce premium cars.

At the beginning of the new century, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Atlant-M, Sergei Savitsky and Ilya Prokhorov came up with a book called “The Book of Stories for Those Over 20”. It contains the stories of employees about their work in the holding. They are distinguished by their sincerity and openness - these are honest stories about the successes and failures that happened during the formation of the team. There are even stories of competitors that it is generally not accepted to publish in such publications.

Savitsky himself treats his business and cars very emotionally: he believes that the car should be chosen not with the mind, but with the heart. And he compares choosing a car to getting married: they say, living with an unloved woman is the same as driving a car that you don't like or don't like.

Volkswagen remains his favorite brand - it has kept this consistency since 1993. However, as a true explorer, he tries to drive other cars, and he likes many of them. For example, Touareg or Range Rover.

Personal life

Development has always been Savitsky's main interest. He sets himself difficult tasks - after all, it is they that help to develop. And also constant growth is helped by communication, society, communications.

This is probably why Savitsky has a large family: besides him and his wife, there are four more children. The family also makes it possible to solve various life tasks, which are sometimes no simpler than business.
