Biography

Heather Amy Matarazzo was born in Long Island in 1982, she is Irish by birth. The Matarazzo family are Catholics, so the father took over all the financial concerns, and the mother was engaged in the household and raising children. Their family was strict, and yet Heather grew up as a brave and independent girl.

This manifested itself later, when the future actress graduated from high school and told her parents that she wanted to devote herself to cinema. Moreover, at the age of six, she took part in the filming of the series "Roseanne" (1998), albeit in a small role.

Heather spent her childhood in Oyster Bay, where she graduated from high school and the center of culture and arts "BOCES".

Film career

Since 1990, Heather has received several roles in different series: "Law & Order" (1990), "The Adventures of Pete and Pete" (1992), "Ambulance" (1994). Work on these projects lasted five to ten years, and the filming process brought the actress real pleasure.

In 1997, Matarazzo won the Independent Spirit Award for her role in Welcome to the Doll House. As critics wrote, Heather got so used to the role of the "unhappy little girl" that later it was difficult not to associate her with this role. It was a very difficult reincarnation: to play an unfortunate man persecuted by everyone, who, even in sexual violence, is looking for hope that someone will show attention to him.

Heather got a similar role in the film Our Boys. Here, the emotional component of the role is even more strengthened: the heroine of the actress has mental disabilities, and to show such things is real creativity with a capital letter. The heroine had to endure such trials that not everyone can cope with. And Matarazzo very clearly showed all her experiences.

In the filmography of the actress there are quite a few interesting roles, and the best films in her portfolio are Studio 54 (1998), The Conspiracy of Naughty Girls (1998), The Devil's Advocate (1997), Welcome to the Doll House, (1995), "How to Become a Princess" (2001).

In addition to cinema, Heather Matarazzo's professional interests include television - she appears in television projects. For example, in shows such as "Citizens", "Law and Order" she can often be seen.
