Obtaining a passport may seem like a complicated procedure if you do not know all the nuances. The main thing is to competently prepare all the necessary documents so that the application will be accepted from you the first time.

Step 1
To obtain a passport, you need to collect the following documents:
Application of the established form in 2 copies with a photograph.
A copy of the work book certified by the personnel department.
Copy and original of the Russian passport.
A copy of the old passport, if any.
For men - a copy of the military ID.
Receipt for payment of state duty.
Step 2
For children under 18:
Application of the established form with a photograph - 2 pcs.
Original and copy of birth certificate.
The original and a copy of the old passport, if any.
Receipt for payment of state duty.
Step 3
For registration of a passport, photographs will be required. If you are applying for an old passport, then you will need to provide 2 photographs in an oval on matte paper. If you want to get a biometric passport, then you will be photographed directly at the department of the Federal Migration Service. For minors, a biometric passport is issued separately for each child.
Step 4
To provide documents, you will need to come to the territorial department of the FMS during the days and hours of reception. The queue, as a rule, takes several hours there. And the opportunity to get an appointment on this particular day is not always there. What can be done:
Sign up by phone. You must be assigned the exact date and time of the appointment, out of the general queue. But, sometimes, according to the appointment, you can wait several months.
You can apply on the official website of the Federal Migration Service of Russia.
Step 5
Even if you managed to get an appointment in the coming days, according to the law, the registration of a passport will take one month. This is at its best. If you need a passport urgently, you can use the services of intermediary firms. Such firms issue passports on an absolutely legal basis in the shortest possible time. How they do it, I think, is clear to everyone. But the cost of such services ranges from 9 to 15 thousand rubles for one passport. Add to this amount the cost of the official state duty, which must be paid in any case. In this case, the terms of execution can be, respectively, from one week to three. You will only need to provide a standard list of documents for obtaining a passport. You will be spared from going through the official authorities.
