There are books that readers come back to over and over again, each time finding something new. Books are re-read in order to meet again with favorite characters, experience familiar emotions and discover new sides of already read works
Instructions
Step 1
In 2007, BBC News reporters conducted a survey, during which it turned out that in the UK, the Harry Potter novels are most often re-read. J. K. Rowling's novels take readers back to childhood. An entire generation has grown up on the saga of the wizard boy. Books that raise the eternal questions of good and evil, talk about sacrificial love and devoted friendship, do not lose their popularity to this day. Readers return to the Harry Potter books in order to meet again familiar characters and get into a magical world that has become completely native.
Step 2
The second place in the ranking is taken by "The Lord of the Rings" by J. R. R. Tolkien. The epic fantasy saga has become a real cultural phenomenon and has had a huge impact on the development of world literature. It is this book that ranks first in the list of "200 best books according to the BBC". Tolkien created a whole world that, as you read books, becomes closer than the real world. The danger that threatens Middle-earth is as exciting as the danger hanging over the home. Great heroes fight for the salvation of Middle-earth - but ultimately the smallest and most peaceful creatures - the hobbits - decide the fate of the world. This is how Tolkien affirms the importance of each person in a big business.
Step 3
In third place in the BBC rating is a work of classic literature - "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. The love story of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy is always popular with readers and especially female readers. The strong character and extraordinary mind of the protagonist made her one of the most beloved literary characters of all time. The exquisite language has been bringing pleasure to readers for over two hundred years.
Step 4
In Russia, one of the frequently re-read books is Mikhail Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita. The plot of the novel, which develops on two planes, is full of mysteries. This is a multi-layered novel, where everyone will find what they are looking for, be it a love story, a mystical plot, philosophical reflections, psychological sketches or religious motives. Several generations of readers have been pondering over the meaning and secrets of the novel.
Step 5
From the works of foreign literature, one of the most re-read was the novel by Margaret Mitchell "Gone with the Wind". It would be a mistake to consider it just a love story. This is a real epic novel, showing a wide panorama of American life in critical, turning years, when for many the old world disappeared forever and was replaced by a new one. The main character, Scarlett O'Hara, is one of the brightest and most controversial characters in world literature. Her strong character, thanks to which she survived all the trials, is admirable. And the love story of Rhett Butler for Scarlett is one of the most impressive in world literature.
